How many exotic full sets of 42k karma gear is there that look different? Three?
theres quite a few actually. However the majority of the sets require your server or "a large group of people" to complete a chain of dynamic events in specific zones and defeat the event boss in order for a karma vender to spawn.
For example the cathedral event at the ruins of orr where you got to defeat the corrupt priestess. Completing the event spawns a karma vender that offers lv.80 rubicon exotic armor.
There's also a karma vender outside the Arah Dungeon that sells lv.80 exotics aswell

There's more than 3 different looking sets? I thought only 1 per orr zone(there's multiple vendors but the gear looks the same).

I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
