Is it just me or is it just so damn slow to level :| I'm doing the random events, I'm doing the other stuff... but bleh :| seems like it's a pain in the *** to get one level lol.
Took me about the same amount of time as Dread to reach 80, it's not bad at all

I went from 1-8 on my Necro yesterday in about 4 hrs casually while watching TV. Just make sure there is no downtime if youre trying to level. There should rarely be a time when youre standing waiting for anything. Just roam and hit all the hearts and if an event pops up, do it and then just go back to the hearts. Also when you are at the level to do story mission, knock those out too. Theyre good exp.
Misa, Uri, Lolserj, everyone else in the guild...I know I'm really far far behind, but what is everyone crafting? I'm just randomly picking up whatever and stashing it at this point. Drac said he is doing the same last night. Just wondering who I need to send all these items to while I play catch-up.
So I'm 72 Guardian now and just did my first dungeon run which was in Catacombs story.
First the dungeon was not what I expected entirely. I heard they were a slap in the face compared to the Overworld stuff and that you'd be forced to adjust your skills on a fight to fight basis. What I ended up seeing was that the mobs did heavy damage and had decent health but that was about the extent of it. I adjusted my skills prior to entering to what I thought would be a good start. They all felt useless. That is kinda my beef with Guardian lately. I have my Greatsword and skills I've been using for 40+ levels and any skills I change from those just feels pointless.
We made it through the dungeon by essentially throwing bodies at it. And while I stood there at the end feeling like "Soo.. that was it?" and completely dissatisfied, other party members said things like "awesome" and "fun" in the chat. I asked the leader afterwards if that was an average crappy run and he said it was actually pretty good. It wasn't that I felt the dungeon was too easy, it was just the fact that changing your approach doesn't seem like it would make any difference. Your going to get ruined in 3 seconds by doing anything.
So yea that dungeon left a bad taste in my mouth and I am left with almost no interest in wanting to do the other dungeons. And it also made me not like my Guardian even more. All my skills feel so meh.
I haven't done any dungeons yet personally but I heard people in my guild talking about how terrible they are. Most said they "threw bodies at stuff until you die then waypoint and run back before the rest die". Definitely not liking that. I had a TON of fun doing the instances when I played Aion.
yeah I am still 58 and I started about 10~ days ago. I'm in no hurry, although mission wise I hit the wall on Set to Blow, had to recruit help. Haven't tried any dungeons but I hear groups are having a rocky time lol
I've done the level 30 and 40 dungeon so far. They were fun with the right people.
A good group can clear them without too much trouble.
The only problem is finding someone willing to lead, or learning to lead the group via chat alone.
Selecting certain targets like you would back in the old dynamis works well if everyone targets that mob but hitting T once it is called out.
So far I've gone in with 2 Guardians(1 myself), 1 Mesmer, 1 Ele, and 1 Thief. We did both quite easily, the level 30 one seemed more difficult than the level 40 one.
If someone wants to do dungeons, level 45 min dungeon (explore mode) in Queensdale, you will prolly see me there. Trying to get into an explorer mode party .-. but everyone wants *** story mode. I WANT TO FINISH WORLD MAP COMPLETION DAMNIT! I'm at 92% =(
I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
