Depends what you like getting used to. Like right now I use Axe/Dagger and have a staff for my second weapon set (for when I want to play as the mage role)
I love the level 80 axe/dagger i have tho. *** neon green looking thing. I forgot the actual names but they're Rare (Yellow color). I wanted a Mystic but didn't have that much money.
Also, question. When you craft Legendary armor/weapons, are they soulbound on aquire or soulbound on use? (aka can you sell them to others)

I like the big ship in Frostgorge and Bloodtide is pretty cool. I'd really like some desert zones though.

I'm 29 so far since I havn't played much the last couple days but I find it fast to level if anything.

I'm actually in like a 11-?? area I think at 9 ... I should be going faster but most of my levels have come from the quests so far, as far as grinding out on mobs? not so much ... If you play the game, you gain exp/levels. You can't possibly be doing anything wrong, you'd have to be afk to not gain levels/exp. Crafting? Tons of exp. Discovering zones? Tons of exp. Events? Tons of exp. renown quests? Tons of exp. Gathering? Tons of exp.
Run around the entire map, do all zone events, do all renown quests, discover all point of interests, do all skill challenges, find all vistas. during a Dynamic Event, when a large group of monsters appear, try to land an AOE to tag as many monsters as possible and spam multy hit skills as well.
