starter cities are race specific, but you can travel between them real fast at about level 2~3, by going into your city, and then using a stargate asura-gate to travel to Lion's Arch, and then travel to other starter cities.
human elementalist, mesmer and ranger, next chara might be a Norn
Wow. That was an epic string of Active events in Harathi Hinterlands. Like 6 7 Active Events all linked to each other with the Seraphs assaulting all the centaur strongholds and defending the counter attacks. Got a full level (42-43) doing that.
Currently downloading. This connection here is killing me. 7% complete after an hour. Looking forward too it though. Let's me complete my homework I suppose.

Just a note for anyone thinking about going to Blackgate. When I went to create my first character yesterday, it told me Blackgate was full. If there is a way around this I don't know of it myself.

Just make the char on a dif server for now and keep checking back. ATM server transfers are free. Kinda wat I did at the start
Is GW2 like GW1 when you go out to open/outside areas its only you and your party that is in that area? (I guess its instanced?)
From what I've seen it's open world but everyone can attack anything and you have your own loot pools, etc. Like harvesting/gathering points, if you go use it, it will disappear on your screen but to someone else it is still there. So you will see like 5 people at one spot sometimes. I am still new to the game so if there are claimable monsters, I haven't seen them yet.
There are instanced parts however, like when it comes to your personal story. If you are on certain quests it will tell you that you are about to enter an instanced area.

Ah ok, i liked GW1 but it kinda sucks that you couldnt interact with people once you go to outside areas. G/f and I have been thinking of trying it out but 1) Don't want to spend 60 bucks on it and 2) want to wait till it dies down a bit and people lose interest.
Ugh. Getting my *** kicked in a level 45-50 zone with level 34 weapons.. every weapon drop I get is elemental gear..
None of the weapons from karma vendors after you finished the region quest worked?
Also last I knew Drac you can still buy it digital on Amazon and dl, assuming you can order it there and all.
The last set of daggers I found from a karma vender were level 38 (I'm 48 now), and I've been doing every one. I finally got a pair of level 44? guns, so I just have to tough it out until I find a vender with daggers.
Tons of venders have underwater weapons.. so many underwater weapons.
I don't know how many fans of Guild Wars we have here, but for me it will always have a special place in my heart. Guild Wars was a fast based CORPG (Co-operative RPG) with no subscription fees, and really fun PVP.
Well Guild Wars 2 is on the horizon, and BOY does that game look good.
Following the same pattern of having no subscription fees this game is going to take place 250 years later, on the content of Tyria.
The game is based around the same fast paced combat, with a few small changes ofc.
Here's a cool trailer to get you in the mood for it.
*Note: Everything is real time, Even though it looks like A cutscene, it's gameplay.
