I'm convinced ranked 3v3s are harder than 5v5s in every way
Coordinating with and against 5 people is harder than 3 people. Also a
larger map with
more important jungle camps.
There is no possibility that 3s is harder than 5s. Can be even more so proved on how
TT is completely barren and hardly used.
Lets discuss this for a moment.
Coordinating with and against 5 people is harder than 3 people
Sure comparing 5 people to 3, there is less people to communicate with, less people to talk to. There's less mia's to be called. Pretty much 1 person to cover the location of 1 enemy in terms of calling out mia's. Except for knowing the full time location of the enemy jungler. Unless you properly ward.
larger map
Yup, summoner's rift is a much much larger map. Feels like it takes forever to walk across mid lane from your base to the enemy's. So calling out if someone is mia is basically like
"hey ahri is mia." And if you got wards you're like okay...she's running down the river, Eh. we can run back to the tower or b before she even gets here. Easy enough.
In Twisted Treeline the lanes are fairly long in terms of the outer towers distance from each other. You can literally be from top lane to bottom lane in less than 10 seconds. Calling out mia's is more crucial because there's less distance that needs to be covered and a much longer distance for you to cover to get back to safety.
In terms of map control, yes summoner's rift requires more warding as such for bottom&top lane bushes, dragon, baron, jungle buffs, bushes on either side of mid. For Treeline, basically two wards covers most of the map.
more important jungle camps
Nope. Jungle camps in 3v3's are way more important. They give more exp and gold than SR. On top of that
Dragon gives global exp, gold and global damage % buff every 5 min.
Wolf buff gives 20% attack speed + 10% cooldown reduction
Ghost buff gives 30% movement speed.
and ofc, lizard Buff (same as 5v5)
On top of that, the monsters that spawn at each location are random. So if you even decide to jungle, the camps are never the same.
The only buffs even worth mentioning in 5v5's is red and blue. But you also have two camps of each, so gaining access to them is much easier. Whereas in 3v3's you are constantly fighting for control of dragon because it gives such great bonuses.
There is no possibility that 3s is harder than 5s
I'm sure 3's are harder than 5s because instead of in 5v5's your personal overall team contribution is 1/5. In 3's its now 1/3. You can't slack off in 3v3's and expect the other two to carry you unlike 5v5s. 5v5s is much more forgiving in this field.
The playstyle of the map is much faster paced in terms that late game is considered at 20minutes unlike 5v5's its 40+.
There is little time to free farm. You either get towers/inhibs down fast if the team is dead or you go for dragon if its up. You don't have the luxury to sit in lane for 1~2 minutes just killing minions until a person comes back to defend a tower.
Consumables are way more important. For 5v5's the elixirs are more of an after thought if you completed your build since games normally last 40min +. In 3's that 4 min elixir is basically lasts 1/5 of the game time.
TT is completely barren and hardly used
the amount of people who play something is no correlation to its difficulty.
You can say that dark souls is one of the hardest games of all time. So then why isn't eveyone playing it?
Or is WoW harder than ffxi because ffxi is completely barren and hardly used.
