Linkshell Community Issues

Just a reminder, because it's easily the most common question we get over PM:

"Why won't my jobs/equipment update anymore?"

Our site grabs the data from your POL Linkshell Community profile. Because the URL to your profile is encoded, our site is unable to find it without your help -- you must tell us the URL through your character settings.

The POL LS Comm site is extremely finicky. Changing servers, changing character names, sometimes even changing linkshells can result in your profile's URL changing without your knowledge. Worse, SE will sometimes randomly reset your privacy settings to be not viewable by anyone who isn't logged in to the site. (The default setting.)

For user security reasons, FFXIAH does not log in to view your profile, so if your privacy settings have reverted to default, our site will also stop updating.

If you are ever ensure if this has happened to you, log out completely from the POL LS Comm site. (Using the Log Out feature, not just closing the window.) Then, on your FFXIAH profile, you will see a small blue link to your LS Comm profile page to the right of your avatar. This is a link to the URL that FFXIAH thinks is you.

Click it and go to your POL profile. If your jobs, skills, equipment, or anything else is not visible to you while logged out, then it's not visible to FFXIAH either. If you are instead simply redirected back to FFXIAH, then the URL has changed entirely and the link you previous provided is not invalid.

Semi-related in my opinion, but for the past three (four? Lost count) days, I've attempted to have (on the community) a newly-registered shell's data pick up on FFXIAH, but with no success whatsoever, while the information on the community-side has updated at least three times by now.

I've got everything set to public of course on the community, as well as even on the AH just to see if it'd do anything further, and last but not least, the character's URL is hooked up accordingly, but still with no success whatsoever.

Are there some problems going on with the identifying of linkshells currently, or how exactly do linkshells work on the site now? Since I can't seemingly manually add a shell like how it use to be, I was under the assumption now that it'd just eventually pick up shells for you that are in your possession.


tl;dr: Is the [Linkshells] page missing an [Add] button currently, or?

I am having the issue (post FFXIAH update) that I cannot link my character to a LinkShell in the Character Settings.

My OTHER character profile is linked and displaying correctly only because it was linked prior to the update, but post update the option to select your LinkShell is not there. So for new characters who never had a LinkShell selected, even if we link our character's LinkShell Community page with our character account on here, it's not displaying any of my personal stats (which are all switched to public view).

Is this issue being addressed or has the option simply been moved and I am unaware as to where?
