I had to stop playing ffxi for about the last 4-5 months because I was far too busy with school and life in general. We'll see if I can prioritize my time any better to have some free time to play. But just as I did with ffxi, I haven't stopped paying for it over the course of the last 5 years. Even if I took a break. $13.00 a month just isn't enough for me to worry about. So for a short while I will most likely play both FFXI and FFXIV and see which I would like to continue to play.

Also, $13 a month isn't an issue, it's actually Euros which is closer to $20 a month, plus it's now going to be FFXI AND FFXIV, which is more like 40-50 bucks a month I'll be paying if I pay for them both, during a time where I really shouldn't be even THINKING about MMO's... Yeah... torn... This info is not on the official ffxiv site. are we for sure this info is accurate? and i thought it was suppose to be released on pc and ps3 at the same time.

I sure hope ppl aren't gonna *** of the monthly cost. people pay $12.95 plus $1.00 per mule, so ppl are already paying $20 + for ffxi. Some have multiple accounts, some paid for transfers too. so crying over the cost of monthly fee...just cry me a river.

Could just do what I'm gonna do:
Get XIV, start up account, get the names I want while the gettin is good, cancel account immediately, play XI til I feel I've had enough with it, come check out XIV after everything has been patched up and see how good it is. It says the subscription fee is a monthly cost of 8.99 pounds or 12.99 euros, and each account is eligible for 1 free retainer to be used for item storage/bazaar.
That's kinda the same price as in FF XI, only difference i see is the additional characters which are 2.10 pounds or 3 euros a month per. Doesn't bother me tho since i only use 1 character XD.
