FFXI dats.com is closing down :(
If I had the time, patience and ability, I would happily re-make all these awesome yet lost dats we can no longer obtain. /sigh, maybe someday.

I could probably host it, although don't know about bandwidth. If they gave the database and files. I'd renew the domain most def! Dont worry, dont threat! Im working with someone to resume work on the site. The .dat community will continue. Ill give more info when its done.
PS: Zenith doesnt want to do it anymore thats why. fo serious? cause I just downloaded 40mb worth of my favorite dats so when I come back i'll look good to me ; -;

well i can attest to running a site for a long *** time and just not wanting to do it any more , if ya need any place to plop some files , lemme know ill set up a ftp account to my server.
Just curious if anyone that visits these forums might have an archive of previously collected user made dats they might be benevolent enough to upload for the community? <3

[33 days between previous and next post]lol got bored and went to look for some mithra dancer dats... to my surprise it was gone =( Any idea where i can find some dats to play around with in the meantime?
This was supose to be the replacement site but however, the person heading the project jumped ship soo I really dont know where to find any.

The files were mostly less than 1MB, but I'm not sure how many there were, if I had to guess and ballpark it, maybe 500ish...?
I didn't go into the taru/hume/elvaan/mithra areas so maybe they had a lot more than galkas did, I could be off, less than 1000 files though I'm positive. That's not so bad. I'm barely using the space and bandwidth on my GoDaddy account, so I'm sure I can handle it.

If a few people could team up with me to be admin/mods I could setup a site to host the dats, it would not be a custom site but would work well I think for this type of hosting. PM me if interested, I am looking for people that would help for at least a year. Once I have about 5 people I could get a site up in about a week.
When I say host, I mean actually putting the files on my host's server so they dont get lost on some free host.

[31 days between previous and next post]does anyone still have files for the Elemental Spirits that looked like sprites? Each sprite was designed for each element. Here is an example:

anyone who knows if there is gonna be or if there is another site like ffxidats out there. i have tons of dats if someone is looking for any specific, though i have only most for mithra but some for others.
I'm pretty sure ffximc.com still exists, it was smaller than ffxidats.com but it might become the new standard now that that site is gone.
