Hi peoples, I have been looking for a tattoo and just can't find The One. I am wanting an armband for my right arm with a Claddagh and a dragon. The problems that I am running in to stem from armbands being logical for Asian dragons, because Asian dragons are long and snake-like. However, I prefer European dragons, which are more full-bodied with larger wings and don't tend to go well with armbands. Also, I'd like something feminine and delicate, and as you might imagine, most of the dragon armband examples I found were very masculine. Dragon tattoos also tend to have a lot of color, and I prefer black-and-white tattoos. Here's what I am looking for:

a European dragon:

(It doesn't need to be that exact dragon; actually I'd prefer not to have that exact one because it's very colorful. That's just here as an example of any random European dragon.)

and a Claddagh:

The Claddagh is the Irish symbol for friendship, love, and loyalty. Dragon tattoos usually indicate protection, either that the wearer is protected or the wearer protects others. Anyways, I sorta suck at art so I was wanting to see if anyone else wanted to try at merging the two? The Claddagh is somewhat more important to me than the dragon.

Also, please no trolling. I understand many of you don't like tattoos, and that's fine, but it is my choice. Also, I could of course get this artwork made by a tattoo artist, but I thought some of the artists here might have fun with the challenge of trying to merge two very different things into one tattoo. If any artists here don't want to, of course they don't have to. It's a challenge, not a demand.

xD I already have one, Ent:

That's the only pic I have of it. Kinda small and blurry, was taken with an old cell phone. I want (eventually) a heart made from an upside-down treble clef and a bass clef on the back of my neck, and maybe someday a genie weskit down my left arm. And, if I can ever find the perfect design for it, the Claddah-dragon right arm armband.

I meant get a heart tattoo on your wrist like mine, but that won't work I guess.

The wrist one is dang cute! I should check into getting one of my wrist someday, perhaps, if I find a design for it that I fall in love with. As for sleeves, the closest I would come is the blm genie weskit armor. There's another guy on ffxiah that has that, and it looks hella cool. I have it saved to my desktop, maybe later when I am not feeling lazy I'll put it up here.

Edit: my tat that I posted up there is on the right side of my lower back, sorta on my cheeky or hip. Hard to describe exactly where it is.

This is the only sleeve tattoo I can actually recommend. It's Faith's, from Mirror's Edge.

Editted for gigantic freaking image.

This is the blm one I mentioned earlier that I want down my left arm. It's scraggy, which is very cool for a boy, but if I got it I would make all the lines smooth and tapered at the ends. Someone on this site has this tat, I got it from here. I wish I could remember his name. :/

Edit: And this is the one I want on the back of my neck:

Your best bet, and I can't stress this enough, is to find a talented tattoo artist and tell THEM what it is you want.. If they can't grasp the concept/draw it, I wouldn't trust them to do it to begin with..

Even if they do trace it, the ink they put in will still have visible traces of their artistic skill/interpretation.

If a tattoo artist refuses to draw it on paper before putting it in ink, find a new artist, period.

Most any reputable tattoo artist will have no problem sitting down with you drawing it out, fixing the things you don't like, etc. so long as you are actually serious about getting the work done he's going to end up spending a good ammount of time on drawing it on paper first, which he doesn't get paid for...

If he's taken the time to try and draw out the picture that's in your own mind, but it just isn't working out with him, I'd go so far as to say to 'tip' him just for taking the time to do it.

One final note, if he says it can't be done, take his word for it.. There are plenty out there who will 'try' and do it just for the sake of the money, but a good artist is going to tell you how it is.
