When I merit on RDM/DNC I use my MP to haste the DD's and cure with TP (also I use aspir samba as opposed to drain samba to keep my MP up). Just my two cents. If you have the right gear, it's a valid option. Won't necessarily make your party much better but it absolutely will not make your party worse.
