I don't believe Trump is capable of directly answering 20 questions on any subject, least of which science.
And yet he holds press conferences and Hillary doesn't. Hillary can't handle unscripted questions without lying her face off.
I assume her not holding press conferences while he does is some version of football's prevent defense. Play it super-conservative (ironnnnny) while letting your opponent take the gambles and make the mistakes.
It doesn't really work in football, either.
I remember as a kid when my dad would freak out whenever teams played prevent defense and ended up getting wrecked as a result, but I see a lot of people saying that it's really only a bad strategy when teams switch to it too early in the game. That almost makes the analogy to Clinton's strategy even better, though, especially when she's consistently losing yards to her opponent already.

I have a philosophical problem with it, because it means you're abandoning what's gotten you to the point where you have the option to even play it. Radically changing tack is only a good tactic if you're getting your *** kicked.

As bad as Clinton's week was, Trump did not have a good week, going on Kremlin TV and singing the praises of a murderer and tyrant caused Congress to run away from him again, and today his 3rd..or 4th campaign manager had a meltdown when pressed on why he is still hiding his tax returns. Yes, we are calling him a liar.

If you're one of the aforementioned deplorable or insist on seeing something deeper than simple pneumonia then it's safe to say you weren't leaning Hillary anyway so I doubt those developments will be that impactful.
Given Trump's recent "minority outreach" and big agenda press conferences, to not see much in the way of upwards movement in the polls should be concerning. This is him (presumably) actually trying and it's not working.

Except she's not wrong. I'm not talking about "everyone voting for him." Tons of people are voting for him b/c of party line, hate of Hillary, whatever.
But his actual supporters? The people attending his rallies, donating to campaigns, putting his signage in their yard and on their businesses?
I'm willing to believe half of those people are, in fact, some level of deplorable in regard to their thoughts on race, homosexuality, other beliefs, etc.

Not much in the way of upwards movement? Look at his numbers on Realclearpolitics. Taking the convention bumps and dips out, he's been trending steadily upwards since mid June, now at +5 points since then. Don't even statistics with me, bro. And if you don't think Hillary being front and center in a negative light will affect her, give it two weeks and we'll talk.
