Nation missions, a few expansion fights...um....yup.

ETA: Please don't think this post condones DRG in any but the most highly geared cases. Unless, whatever, Shantotto or something.

Are nation missions really that hard still? Honestly I could see most new players using /dnc for sheer convenience since /dnc is something that is almost mandatory for dyna. Seems out of the way to lvl /rdm just for Nations. Though I didn't know drg could solo expan missions neat-o.

The problem is finding people who want to help with rank 6.1+ nations missions, because you can solo most (if not all?) of it.
/mage allows DRG to self-cure on simple bosses, and as far as I know it can be done with mediocre gear/skill. (if I'm wrong, let, me know...)

This video is my second favorite FFXI thing, other than those GIFs that one person made (I can't find them) that reminded me of Nuklear Power's 8 Bit Theatre,

That was hilarious. Thanks. XD

The OP's video pretty much covered my thoughts on /dnc in 99% of in-game activities. But there is one thing it's actually good for.

About the only time you should ever see a DRG/DNC, would be for solo/lowman dynamis currency farming. It's a lot riskier than /mage, but has it's advantages.

/dnc gives you 2 more Ja for procing in dynamis. Between those, jumps, smiting breath, and angon, DRG has quite a lot of JAs to proc with. The faster you get a mob proc'd the faster you can kill it and move one.

You mostly survive off once a min restoring breaths. On DC nightmare mobs, with signet bonus, DRG evasion is actually fairly decent.(But no, don't gear for eva. <,<;;) Waltzes are an emergency measure.

The only reason you'd use reverse flourish, is because you're spamming steps anyway for procs. May as well get some of the TP back. Also makes a good self SC tool in conjunction with jumps. Same thing for haste samba. You use it when you've got excess tp over 100% while waiting to proc something.

Spectral jig certainly is weak. I dunno why they didn't boost it's duration when the did for normal sneak/invis. But the one thing it's really good for, is killing time extensions then hiding before you agro adds. Jump, ws, dead TE, spectral.

Legit answer is: They don't have any other subjob to use besides /dnc.

Should be the only reason. >_>

Why do they talk with random pauses in the sentences? Is this some sort of automatic animated movie-maker that just sticks those in randomly.

LOL. We had to use xtranormal in school a few weeks ago. Deja vu. This video is spot on. The only time i use /dnc on drg is when i do dynamis with my mule. So many procs /dnc with relatively low timers make for some fast killing.

I have been doing Dynamis with a group of friends counting 1 DRG/DNC, he used /DNC so he could proc as well as me or the others with us.

He only had DRG & WHM at 99 btw.

Is that bad? no its not, if the DRG is properly geared/skilled why not ?

Now if the OP relate this post to Legion/VWNM/ & others serious stuff its another story.

But if he came across DRG/DNC in towns i don't see the problem.

With now and days leech GoV party's it's easy to lvl. Iv been playing around and I like DRG/DNC if your like me I always have TP! So if I do get into trouble I can shoot off a Waltz before I Penta thrust. Dragoon has no real sub. You can play whatever.

You have whm 17, you could solo better on drg with a gimp sub whm than you can with dnc. It's totally your choice of course just realize that your time could be better spent. GOV refresh will keep you going forever and you can dia proc HB's and add some Def down on the mobs. Just because you CAN play whatever doesn't mean it's the easiest way.
