Nope.

Did you ever say something to someone you loved that haunts you for decades?

Yes :-( I said something really, REALLY mean to my brother-in-law when he lived with us and I still wish I hadn't. It was 100% uncalled for and cruel.

He'd been living with us for maybe 3/4 of a semester, and it just wasn't working out. I'm a little territorial and OCD on how certain things are in the house, and I just felt stressed out and on edge the whole time the poor kid was there. Anyways, we got into a fight once and he said something about that he couldn't wait until the end of the semester when he could move out. And without even thinking about how it might sound, I said something along the lines of "no one says you have to wait til the end of the semester." And what I kind of meant was that people were looking for roommates all the time and he could probably move out whenever he wanted. But how it came out, especially with my mad tone of voice, was more like "I can't wait either, in fact, get out sooner."

I'll never forget how heartbroken he looked and I don't think my relationship with him will ever be the same. That was YEARS ago and we're still not the same as we were before.

Have you ever weighed the pros/cons of being the opposite sex?

I've wished to be a boy before. When I was a little kid (maybe 9 or 10?) I thought I was actually turning into a boy, so I sat down and thought about it for a few minutes and decided meh, I was fine with it. My biggest concern was hiding my new maleness from my parents. (Obviously I was not turning into a boy, I was just really confused at the time.)

Now I think there are good and bad things about being either gender. I'm happy as-is, however I've wondered if I'd be better at certain things if I was a man or if I'd be taken more seriously as a worker if I was male. We'll never know, but I don't consider my woman-ness to be a detriment either.

Indeed. I would gladly do it myself even if I knew I wouldn't be charged for it.

No. I'd say the closest I came was my first stepfather who went to prison for molesting two of my adopted sisters. But even then I didn't care whether or not he died, I just was glad he was in jail and not around little girls anymore.

I don't think I've ever tried. :o

I've grown sick of some of them. My parents' nickname for me was Stevie, and I didn't like it because it felt like they wanted me to be a boy. My brother's nickname for me was Shrimp, which was fine coming from him but not from anyone else. I love my husband's nickname for me, but won't even answer to it from anyone else. Not because I don't like it, but because it's an intimacy which is only his.

Honestly, it depends on which nickname and who it's coming from.

No, it's always the rear-ender's fault in that accident and I don't want my insurance to go up.

No, I'm a pansy and also don't like to choke.

Have you ever had physical pain so intense you wanted to end your life but due to the all organisms's involuntary self preservation kicking in you were forced to lose consciousness instead?

No. The worst internal pain was when I had food poisoning that landed me in the hospital, and the worst external pain was getting tattooed on my spine. I didn't pass out, scream, or cry for either of those situations. But I cry when I stub my toe, I don't know what the truck is going on there. Tattoo gun burning your bone as it deposits ink under the skin? Deep breathing and control. Bump little toe into table? WAAAAAAHHHH!

Have you ever genuinely wished to change your name and appearance, pack up your family, and move to a new town to start over? Not because you are dissatisfied, but because you are curious and want to experience more of what's out there?

I've done it enough to know that if you're an introvert, it's not nearly as romantic as it might seem. It seems like the older you get, the less likely you are to find yourself in situations where you can make new freinds, especially if you've got an unusual range of interests or a personality that can be off-putting.

Friends and acquaintances also act as kind of a social safety net that you lose when you move to a new area. Locking yourself out of your house or car or a range of possibilities along those lines could be downright disastrous in a place where you don't know anyone. Then again, I don't have a family, so I suppose it's much different for me.

Have you ever hurt yourself badly trying to show off?
