My entire childhood there involved my parents constantly telling us how we would move out of there as soon as we had the chance. We could have done worse, though. We could have been living in Illinois.

Anytime I see a Trump campaign it is more focused around inspiring people rather than putting others down.
His inspirations come at the cost of putting down entire groups of people? You know what would make America great? If we stopped all those mexican and muslim rapists from coming into this country. Yes, totally not an insult driven campaign at all. And do you even remember the primaries, where Trump had a derogatory nickname for the lead candidates, and continues to do so with Clinton?

What about those "deplorables" where all they did was not support her royal highness?

Even if you try to apologize it away, all she knew of these people were that they supported Trump (and therefor, not her). Just wait until you disagree with her on something, you will be labeled like us too. You deplorable you!

Taking quotes out of context is pretty poor form.

I was referring to the advertisements his campaign was running and I mentioned only the adverts I have seen.

I've watched some of Hillary's ads and she is obsessed with children:

Apparently 4 year old kids are going to decide this election!

Why not?

4 year olds* are running for president.

*If you can put an age on maturity that is.

Just to actually reply to the quote.

He mentioned stopping illegal mexicans, not them legally entering.

The comment on the muslims is true. He did encourage a complete shut off from allowing them into our country. His reasoning is vaguely viable. At least with the Syrian refugees it makes sense as we have seen what they have done in other countries they were brought into.

I don't necessarily agree with the bias people have against muslims but I understand it when its proven to them time and time again that it is a religion that incites violence and radicalism. That is what he is playing off of in that department.

So he may be putting down groups of people but it is within reason and he isn't targeting our citizens in his "put down". The overly left media will easily jump to that conclusion though since it paints the narrative they want. If you actually listen or read his quotes without taking them out of context you will figure out that it is more about protecting the american people than putting others down.

Won't deny that, and I don't really agree with it either.

A lot of his quotes are taken out of context and used against him though: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2016/07/25/did-donald-trump-really-say-those-things/

Here is an article that does a better job of describing it.

It has said some pretty terrible things, but the bigger ones that seem to be outraging people are taken out of context or just from made-up quotes.

Reason and Trump's campaign aren't compatible. What is Trump protecting people from by denigrating other groups? Illegal immigrants don't commit crimes more often than citizens and Syrian refugees aren't blowing up building and shooting up night clubs. His comments are meant to incite bigotry. They don't stand up to any measure of reason.

Not sure if you read that completely but the full context (including followup statements on some of those) is still pretty terrible.

What benefit is there from allowing them into our country? Both illegal immigrants and Syrian refugees.

To expand on this, he wants to stop people coming from certain regions. Not exactly because of their religion, but he is using their religion as a focus point for his policies.

As for the bias against Muslims, I to agree that the bias against them is generally unfounded in the most part, but ISIS and home-grown terror cells aren't exactly helping bring harmony between the communities.

Then again, it's possible to have home-grown terrorism without the person leaving the country or even meeting the terrorists themselves. So, unless there's a way to stop it from the inside, stopping it from letting outsiders come in to harm us is probably the best way to combat it now.

I'm sure there are Xenophobes out there that may think this way. I think a person without an irrational fear could come to conclusion that allowing more Syrian immigrants may not be good for our country.

At that point you and that person just have a differing opinion, it doesn't mean you have to label them a xenophobe.
