Yes, 200k for medical malpractice, which could have been higher. 100k for being a meany head though? I need to start taking people on the forums to court. Defamation is stating something about someone that is not true and the other people acting on or believing those comments.
She made mean comments about his school and possibly being gay, about him needing to man up, etc but those weren't considered defamation.
Only two comments were considered defamation, the two comments dealing with his potential medical issues.
Quote: When a medical assistant noted the man had a rash, the anesthesiologist warned her not to touch it, saying she might get “some syphilis on your arm or something,” then added, “It’s probably tuberculosis in the penis, so you’ll be all right.” That made me wonder: what if all what they did was make fun of the patient, without saying anything that would qualify for being "defamation", or tampering with his medical records? Would the plaintiff still have a case, and what will it be?
Because it's still a horrible thing to do.

As America has the finest lawsuit technology in the world, I'm sure his lawyer could come up with something.

You'd they stop and think for a second when you're banning classic movies and books.
Nope, gotta ban video games too, but keep the focus on the flag.

Quote: June is something like Hate America Month in North Korea.
Officially, it's called "Struggle Against U.S. Imperialism Month" and — more so than usual — it's a time for North Koreans to swarm to war museums, mobilize for gatherings denouncing the evils of the United States and join in a general, nationwide whipping up of anti-American sentiment.
The culmination this year came Thursday — the 65th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War — with a 100,000-strong rally in Pyongyang's Kim Il Sung Stadium.
Though often called the "Forgotten War" in the United States, the 1950-53 Korean War is anything but forgotten in North Korea. As the anti-U.S. fervor reached its crescendo this week, The Associated Press took a look at what North Koreans, who aren't privy to conflicting versions of the history of the war, are taught about it — and how they are constantly told they "can never trust the American imperialists."
___
There is no dispute that the Korean War was particularly brutal, claiming millions of Korean lives, possibly hundreds of thousands of Chinese who were sent to fight with them, and tens of thousands of Americans left dead or missing in action.
But the North Korean version of the war, including the claim that it was started by Washington, is radically at odds with that of the United States and often doesn't even jibe well with documents released over the years by its wartime allies, China and the Soviet Union.
For Pyongyang, however, the conflict isn't just about history.
What's more important to the ruling regime is the official moral of the story — that it was thanks to the wise leadership of the country's founder, Kim Il Sung, and since then his son Kim Jong Il and now grandson Kim Jong Un, that the country has managed to survive in its struggle against the ever-present threat of the American Goliath.
Before attending the "Pyongyang Mass Rally on the Day of the Struggle Against the U.S.," a carefully orchestrated display of angry speeches, fist-pumping and calls for blood revenge, we toured two sites overflowing with soldiers in olive-green uniforms, schoolchildren wearing their bright red scarves and community groups of every stripe.
Both sites were devoted to stories of atrocities, massacres and grisly tortures committed upon the nation, their walls covered by fuzzy black-and-white photos of horrifically mangled bodies, displays of skulls with spikes driven through them and oil paintings of almost cartoonishly fiendish American GIs and crazed Korean "stooges" who collaborated with them.
At the Susan-ri Class Education Center, guide Choe Jong Suk, a somber middle-aged woman in a black-and-white traditional gown, gave a well-practiced lecture on the variety of tortures — 110 in all, she said — inflicted on Koreans by the U.S. that, she said, were "worse than the methods of Hitler." N. Koreans: U.S. atrocities worse than Hitler

Quote: Apple has begun to remove games from the App store that use the Confederate flag, even in the case of war games or simulations that place the flag within the context of the Civil War.
"Nothing was said specifically about the game, apple was nice and courteous as usual," Game-labs' Maxim Zasov told Polygon. "The notification just said that the image of the Confederate flag is against Apple rules and guidelines. To bring back the game we should change the content to fit the guidelines."
The company's game, Ultimate General: Gettysburg was one of the games removed due to the display of the flag.
"We accept Apple's decision and understand that this is a sensitive issue for the American Nation," the company stated. "We wanted our game to be the most accurate, historical, playable reference of the Battle of Gettysburg. All historical commanders, unit composition and weaponry, key geographical locations to the smallest streams or farms are recreated in our game's battlefield."
The developer also compared the use of the flag in their game to other troubling imagery found in films. "Spielberg’s Schindler's List did not try to amend his movie to look more comfortable," the response continued. "The historical Gettysburg movie (1993) is still on iTunes. We believe that all historical art forms: books, movies, or games such as ours, help to learn and understand history, depicting events as they were. True stories are more important to us than money."
It's for that reason they won't be editing the game.
"Therefore we are not going to amend the game's content and Ultimate General: Gettysburg will no longer be available on AppStore. We really hope that Apple’s decision will achieve the desired results. We can’t change history, but we can change the future." Civil War game maker says it won't remove Confederate flag to meet Apple's rules

***who needs all this hypothetical discussion when you can end racism in a wiki:
http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Being-Racist
Self-***. An important first step in your personal journey to overcome racial prejudice is to take stock of yourself. Which groups of people might you be prejudiced against? What are your thoughts about these groups? Where do your negative feelings arise from?
Many people have prejudices that they aren't even conscious of, but can be detected using a psychological test called an Implicit Association Test (IAT). You can take the IAT yourself online.[2]
People are frequently shocked by the results of their IAT, because they assume they are free of racism. Taking this test is a good way to examine your own prejudice, and getting unpleasant results is, for many people, a motivation to work on changing their attitudes.
Think about the source of your racism. The cause of racism can be anything, but it's usually growing up in a racist environment, surrounding ourselves with peers who have racist attitudes, or looking for someone else to blame for our problems.[3] Some also point to messages we get through the media or culture more broadly.[4] Understanding where your own racist tendencies may have come from is an important step in unlearning them.
Monitor your thinking and practice empathy. Be aware of your thoughts when confronted with situations that trigger your prejudice, and try to put yourself in the other person's position. In other words, try to mindful of how people different from yourself might feel in a given situation, and how your actions might be affecting them.[5]

I'm sure glad we're solving racism once and for all with this flag banning.
Well, we could go the treason route that Sparth mentioned earlier. The Republic of Texas flag isn't flown.
What's the one cultural stigma that differentiates the two? Why would one banner of secession that is exempt of that stigma, and refused to fly it over governmental facilities after rejoining the union, not use the flag of the period in which it was a separate country, and another banner for a region continued to do so when both that state and that region committed treason?
One of the two is not like the other.
I'll leave on that note.
