The entire Hydra thing was because I made a crack about trying to kill one by cutting off it's head and then it was turned into whatever that nonsense was, it was a metaphor gone horribly wrong.
So it did indeed start with talking about the mythological creature, just for reference. He's actually pretty awesome even outside of his HIMYM character!
