AA doesnt work too well with FFXI. It actually makes the text and edges blurry. Anisotropic filtering makes it look nicer though.

PS2 players are bad and they should feel bad.

The PS2 is also twice as old as the xbox Hell I dont even think 720p was out when PS2 started out.

I predict that SE will eventually have an NA PS2 option for the new expansion, but it will come after much complaining and after people are visibly upset by their JP>NA shenanigans. I mean seriously could they not see that by not having the trailer read PS2 at the bottom along with xbox and PC would cause a huge ***storm? I mean the PR guys have to be half HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE to not think that kinda ***through.

Also all of the arguments for buying a pc because its really cheap are really pointless. I played on a ps2 since NA release, and I've played on PC several times also. I and I'm sure most of the folks that still play on ps2 , do it because we PREFER to play on the ps2, not because we cant afford a PC that can run it, or because we're all secretly trying to hold the game back, or whatever other ludicrous theories you folks have.

If they dont support ps2 eventually, then have fun Xbox users while it lasts, because you're next on the chopping block! The sad thing is I know that 5 years from now if all ps2 support is dropped folks will still blame game mechanics on ps2 limitations...

the Verified by Visa and whatever the MasterCard one is crap they tried to combat RMT with for PC users in 2008 didnt stop us from playing. I even had to buy the 360 version to get around it, I didnt mind since I already had a 360 and found a copy of FFXI for $15. Many other PC users found a way. PS2 users should too.

The point is, if they are still "supporting" it, it means it truly hasn't be dropped yet. Dropping it means they wouldn't even let you play the game period on PS2.

the ps2 can output in 720p, depending on the game, and of course you'd need a component cable instead of the composite.

It will always be PS2 limitations as long as the game is an emulation of a PS2 game.

they aren't forcing anyone to do anything, they just are unable to provide the expansion in disc form for the US PS2 users, they'll have to distribute it another way, probably through POL.

We still don't have anything to compare it to though. Has any update even been remotely close to a full expansion in size?

yeah, if you called SE customer support directly you can have one of their reps do it for you, but I didnt feel like sitting on hold for 2-3+ hours. At that time most if not all Bank's Debit cards werent supported by either system, so it did cause a lot of problems for the PC playerbase.

They should have been more blunt about it, so that they didn't cause a shitstorm.
