How Much Does It Cost You To Merit?

I always hear of people complaining about Colibri stealing their food during exp/merit pt but it doesnt stop them using it, so my question is

How much does it cost you in food to merit (you personally, not in general). Asking out of curiosity more than anything

it cost me one real life dog each time i merit,gotta use food where you can find it nowadays

depends on job, i merit as thf, so 2 stacks of kabobs or sushi last a long time. I bring 2 stacks normally to a merit party, never really use them up. But as war i'd prob bring 3+.

Sam prob eats up alot more cause they tank.

About 4k on mnk as I use crab sushi.

I don't use food on brd as it's wasted

Depending on the quality of the other DD, I usually go through about 3-4 stacks of kabobs in an hour - 90 minute party on WAR. On BRD and WHM, I actually make gil from meriting... So it all evens out.

Less than what I get back from selling coins after.

it costs me about 180k every 3-4 weeks on cor. This is situational though seeing as how if I am forced to go /whm, I don't shoot as much as I do as with /rng.

I dont merit anymore since im always busy with HNM, but when i actually DO merit, its either SAM or COR. For SAM I usually take 1 stack of meat bobs (4k) and 1 stack of sole sushi (23k). If we have a brd (att x2) i use sushi, if i get (acc+dbatt) i use meat bob. For COR i use 1 stack of sole sushi (23k).

140k if the merit pt lasts for 2/3 hours on ranger with silver bullets.

What's your highest dmg done on blm via Freeze II? on regular mobs?

I use Bream Sushi to hit 117 dex on birds and cap acc obviously, usually take around 4-5 stacks ish so like 45-55k.

I almost exclusively merit with my husband on black mage, either on puddings in mt. zhoylam, on statues in sky, or on angels in sea. Puddings obviously give the best xp, but the other two are usually quieter and have the potential to make some gil. I usually use either melon pie +1 or cream puffs. For melon pies +1, at 20-something k a stack and lasting an hour each, it costs me... not much. At cream puffs, at 7-ish k a stack lasting for half an hour, it costs me even less than not much.

If I did actual merit parties, my costs would be higher but my merits would probably go faster. I haven't had very many good experiences in merit/xp parties, though, and the few good ones I've had have ended quickly. The best one I remember having, Rues and I went as a favor to a friend because he couldn't find anyone else, and we disbanded after half an hour. >< So I prefer to go on my own time, my own schedule, with someone I can rely on and who I know I work well with.

I don't like merit parties though. I rather goof off with friends then deal with people and their impossibly high expectations of each other.


Plus I don't think there is anything for a BRD to eat when all you're doing is singing songs.

I have a stack of Tacos on me most of the time for chr, but it's totally wasted in merit.

She's done with CoP. There's no excuse for someone who's @ Sacrarium/past Sacrarium to NOT have a Swift Belt period. Not trying to add fuel to the fire, just saying. Today's standards are so bleh that its kinda frustrating. If she/he weren't past Sacrarium, then yes, it'd be a 100% douchebag statement.

Depends on the job. Back when people still merited with NINs, I'd use a dagger build (Blau/Fudo) spamming Evisceration, so I'd stick to crab sushi. When Innin was introduced, God... those were the days =(

I always lazy COR, even though I know COR/WAR is better to merit with period. However, COR/WHM is effortless, and I could care less what my exp/hr is if I just stand there, do 3 rolls, alt + tab and get exp really.

MNK is probably the most expensive. I stick to pizza. Always go MNK/WAR, so that ***gets eaten up quick.
