PSA: The Worst Thing You Can Do

Hi folks,
I had to have the same conversation 3 times today with 3 different FFXI enjoyers, and I'm noticing a pattern in 2024.

The worst thing you can do in this game, is try to force something that isn't going your way. It's especially bad, if you're taking your frustrations out on other people. Take a break, whether it's 4 hours, or 4 days or 4 months.

You can come back and examine the situation with a renewed perspective, and probably realize that the disagreements or frustrations are probably not worth getting so worked up over.

Friendly reminder: I say this sentence a lot, but: this game is going to just have 10 people playing it one day. The top 9 people will just absolutely ***on that 10th person for only having 79/80 REMA or 15/16 Prime Weapons or not squeezing blood from a turnip, to get the most gallimaufry or whatever in-game points of the decade, SE wants us to farm.

TLDR: Don't take out FFXI stress on your friends (or even strangers). Know when to disengage if something isn't going your way. You'll be happier, healthier and probably live a little bit longer.

Sound advice, but if your audience was capable of taking advice they'd be doing something other than the thing that they need the advice for.

This is not a PSA, this is click bait (and reeks of some passive aggressive BS). Please deal with your drama internally, or at least make it entertaining...

If what you're doing isn't working, just do it harder.

Thats the thing with these new generation of ffxi players.. not enough hard-core drama to toughen them up.

You could not be further from the truth, and my post has nothing to do with any of my interactions in or outside of game.

A few people came to me with their problems and I noticed a common pattern in their frustrations and grievances. One person tries to force content clears on a daily basis. Another has to balance RL and gaming and wanted some reassurance of their priorities. It's totally normal, but if progress in FFXI starts to weigh you down to the point where you're just flying off the handle, or you can't function as an adult, then take a break. Breathe. This is too miniscule to stress out over.

If someone *** up an easy win, it doesn't even worth my time to type out that "scream" at people in chat. What is done is done, anymore time and angry emotion spent on it is just sunk cost that will not reverse the result. If this win is easy it will eventually come again without additional scream in chat anyways.
