Idk I can't possibly see it being done in less than an hour. Pulling a cleave takes 2 minutes, then another 2 to kill, and you can't get more than maybe 3k sparks per pull?
Maybe during EXP limited, and/or having an alliance of leeches for crystals?
Unless you purposely try to do exactly 500 damage by not gearswapping aeoleans so you pull less...?
Not to mention every idiot and his brother is out there soloing, being in the way, slowing you down. (marjami)

Amy, nobody is farming sparks as their main source of gil. Rather, sparks are supplemental to events, so its really "hidden gil". Something simple like farming Job Points or finishing a trial or two gives points while you work. The convert afterwards is just money you can spend that you werent expecting to earn.

They just recently added a lot of armor/shields to be purchased with sparks... which is really nice because some are annoying to get for guild points. Koenig shields for PLDs making Aegis is also nice, as well as the other shields.

If I work super-hard, mage methods take me about 45min in Abyssea

I think it's about time I share my method of farming 50k sparks in about 30 minutes (not including travel/prep time).

Area: Abyssea - La Theine
Job: Blue Mage
Subjob: Dancer

Method: Set some regen+ and refresh+ atmas. Having some -pdt gear helps. Gather up all the puks in the area (should be about 20 of them). Set sandspin and put on enough MAB gear to hit just above 500 damage. Then when the puks are almost dead subduction to heal them to full.

They push you around the zone with their TP moves. Just ignore it, waltz for HP once in a while. I suppose this method is possible on any job that can wind AoE, too, but BLU I think is fastest.
