Any Tips For Shattering Stars (MNK)?

yeah i haven't done any of those escort quests, i'll try clinpachi's way once i get another testimony and if that doesn't work then i'll try the xp scroll way.

Yea old mnk maat took me a few trys experimenting when i first tried him. I found easiest and smoothest fight went as follow.

Sleep TP to 100tp
Boost 10-12 times to get max damage output you can.

Engage Maat
2hr
ChiBlast
Weaponskill
Tp Build with a few punches your 2hr is still active
Weaponskill again
Maat should be dead.

If not carry an Icarus wing and your Golden.

k, thats similar to what i've been trying but i 2hr after ws. i'll keep that one in mind.

When I did this years and years ago, my gear was utter ***. Still went 1/1. Entered, slept to 100%, ate food (I either used sole sushi or a meat mith. I don't remember), used blink band, boosted about 10 times, engaged backwards, Focus/Dodge, Chi Blast, Raging Fists, Hundred Fists (with Stun Jamadhar), WS at 100%, done.

Maat never got to use Asuran Fists, and even though he did pop Hundred Fists, the Stun Jamadhar kept him stunned long enough to use Chakra once before it was over. I brought a vile elixir and an icarus wing, but kinda forgot to use them. D:

Attack has nothing to do with Chi Blast. Number of Boosts and MND affect it.

do you think raging fists is better for this than howling fist? i have dragon kick as well but i've heard bad things about it in maat fight.

Edit: i would so use the Stun Jamadhar if there were any available on my server.

I got really lucky with the Stun Jamadhar. Back then I preferred Raging Fists just because it was multi-hit, and I had done my most powerful weapon skills with that. Howling Fist is great, though. You probably can't go wrong using one over the other.

The key in Maat fights is to never panic. If you keep yourself calm and collected, you'll most likely win. Just be sure to bring a solid backup plan in case ***does hit the fan. :3

Sleep to 100% TP
If you have a few mind bits, do a boosted chi... can skip it really.
Focus
Run in, WS
Dodge (can CS if you're comfortable with it)
2hr
WS every time you have 100%, dont use Boost.

If he doesnt die, bring an ic wing and use+ws before 2hr..

Sleep to 100
Boost 5 times.
Stand behind maat.
Use Focus, Dodge, Hundred fists.
Engage and immediately before you hit Howling Fist.
tp to 100.
Howling Fist (He will two hour now if not just before you get 100)
Ic Wing
Howling Fist and 2-4 swings later he is down.

Don't Counterstance and don't boost before Weaponskills. Also I don't think you can afford to Chakra. Finished with 650 or so HP.

What everyone else has been saying, WS and Hundred Fist are how u are going to win. Personally, I used Chi Blast when I beat him, but I dont think it matters too much. And as for what was, stick with Howling Fist over Raging Fists. HF is much more powerful at ur level.
And Pachi. . .HF doesnt ignore defense, that is One Inch Punch. And where did your dancing duck go? ; ;

I had a hard time with MNK maat, took me like 3 times to beat him at 66 for Maat's cap.
The way I did it was sleeping to 100%, running in, WSing, icarus wing WS, hundred fist, but by time i would get close to 100% for 3rd WS he would kill me, so I changed my strat just a little bit.

Sleep to 100%, run in WS, Hundred fist, get 100% tp from hundred fist, WS, pop icarus wing, WS. This way I won, because he didn't pop Hundred fists until I had enough tp from my own Hundred fists. As soon as he pops his 2hour, you have to finish him. D:

Hope this somewhat helps. You might only need 2 WS's but thanks to level sync my skill was a little bit below and I didn't want to go out and skill it ;x

No one has said this so maybe it doesnt work anymore....
Sleep to 100%TP, then boost 9 or 12 times, i forget what the max is. Then open get to that range where u cant reach him with normal melee but can engage him. Open up with chi blast then spam ur WS macro til it goes off. That should take like 40% of his hp if i remember right. Hundred fists to 100% and WS and win.

(if this doesnt work my bad, i havent looked into Maat the MNK in over 4 years)

Yeah, you'd think you'd want to start off with mnd gear and Chi Blast.

You would think but the extra damage means that he is going to 2 hour while you are tp'ing for your second WS. If you Chi Blast and WS to start Maat is just going to two hour immediately, forcing you to either IC wing and WS or try to tp to 100 with Maat's 2 hour up. Neither will work.

Some people don't like this method but I think I got lucky and it worked well but I used Counterstance just before I went in. Not sure how many times I countered him but I know it proc'd quite a few times so Counterstance is another option in your arsenal. Just hope you actually DO counter or else it's ouchies time lol. I just wanted to add that this fight took me 5 or 6 tries back in 2004 because Maat insisted on Asuran Fisting me every. single. time.

imo LUCK is the biggest determining factor for mnk maat.

they nerfed Stun Jamadhar proc rate years ago

My battle plan was.
Meat mithkabobs.

4 sleep pots
TP wing
Now, Im a mithra (sos my friend)

when i whent in (nakid) i geared up. with O hat, SH, Amment +1, acc & str ring spike earrings Chiv. chain, AF feet i think, I forget what pants i had, was something crapy, and AF gloves
and brown belt

Slept 100% Ran up to him, Doge/focus hit him with Howling fist then poped my TP wing for an other Howling, then Cracked out my 2hr and started punching By this time i was around 1/2 Life, once i hit 100% again, i Ws'd and won, Ironly >.> I was kinda lagging out, and DC'd shortly after i was kicked from the BC

Now, For my friends char, took me 2 trys, I forgot to pop my food 1st time >.> anyway same Tactics, she had Full af same earrings 2 acc rings and brown belt.

so Gear really didnt make much of a Diffrence, other then the amount of HP left over mine was about 500 hers was 250 ish

-edit- Maat never Used Asuran fists on me, untell RDM maat fight 2 months ago @ Level 70 RDM, =\ stoneskin, blink and he poped me for 1 more DMG Then my Curent hp XD *woak his *** up when his Chain spell was up.. big mistake*

wow this came back to life outta nowhere lol. and yeah sorry forgot to come back.

finally beat him on 7th try. i another one and he whooped me a few.

winning strategy was this:
-entered naked (no one confirmed if this was a factor or not so better safe then sorry)
-used tavnazian taco for def
-AF Chakra for full hp
-slept to 100tp with opo neck, then change back to chiv chain
-engaged facing away, AF boost x6
-AF dodge and focus, regear macro w/ o.kote,SH,jenrenshi habaki
-hundred fists
-turned around and Howling Fist
-waited for 100tp then Howling Fist again
-he quit right after this with 25%hp, i was at about the same, didn't even use ic wing and 3rd ws which i was ready for or use vile elixir +1 i brought along.

beat him 2 days ago

went 1/1 on this, MNK was my first job to 75 so nothing incredible gear-wise.
ends up being a counterattack battle tbh.

meds/blink band ftw
if you can afford it, Vile-elixer +1 is always good to have on the side (if you can/want to afford it) with an "Ohshit" macro to use.

1) Blink band
2) Counterstance/Dodge/Focus
3) Chi Blast as you approach
2) opo-necklace TP to WS at the start
4) Hundred Fists just before first WS, you may have TP in time to SC.
5) Chakra
6) HP med "Ohshit" macro

I'm about to do MNK Maat soon, going once i hit 66. I was looking at Shiva's Claws, as they seem to have a fairly decent proc on paralyze. right now im using T.M hooks +2 but not sure i like the DEF -10 on them for maat fight.

Any thoughts on this? Shiva's Claws on Maat?

Nah, shiva claws on iceday for the para can be amazing.

not gonna bother with those since mnk is staying @ 66. Just thinking that if para proc with shiva's claws, every hit he's paralyzed will help alot. And I'm thinking Shiva Claws only for the sole purpose of fighting maat, not for tp'ing in pt's and such.

When I did Maat, here is what I did

Shiva's Claws on Iceday (for para proc)
Sleep to 100TP (Opo-opo Necklace)
Blink Band
Engage from a distance
Boost 10 times
Focus
Dodge
2hr
Chi Blast
WS as soon as he within range
WS again as soon as TP comes from HF
WS 3rd time if needed (bring an Icarus Wing just in case)

If you do it on Iceday, with the proc, you shouldn't have issues even during Maat's HF. I did this fight like this and ended it with right around 1k hp left. The paralyze murdered him because of how often it proc. And back when I did this, I was a noob (over 4yrs ago) and didn't have great gear. I was wearing AF, Amemet +1, Brown Belt, Spike Necklace (was pre-ToAU), Coral Earrings and 2 Sun Rings. So yeah, its not too terrible if you have some luck involved (as I did).

Well, because it works. I remember I had to think up of the strat because I didn't use boards, didn't know any MNKs that had beat Maat, and the only thing I was told was Opo-Opo for TP by other melees. I tried so many other ways before finally coming across this method and winning. Some examples were Vishnu Cesti because of +0 delay (gives Maat TP faster with less dmg done to him), Trying to Chi Blast him, WS, then 2hr (failed because in the time you have to wait for game to acknowledge the 2hr, Maat will have 2hred and raped you), Counterstance (fails without a good counter build... and obviously I was gimp back then), Evasion build (people let me borrow SH, gear with +eva and that ended in disaster), and finally then this strat. In all between trying other strats several times and then doing this strat, I went 1/16.... so yeah.
