Gambler's Crown Tactics That Work

Gambler's Crown
For those of you that want to get Gambler's Crown, here is the easiest method that I have found.
1. Synth Dated Copper Rings (2 Copper Nuggets) or Dated Bone Rings (1 bone chip) and wear Hempen Coif and Hempen halfgloves. Spiritbond these within 40k exp. (30k with +SB gear) Patriot's Bracelet and Patriot's Choker
2. They will nearly all turn into Str or Mnd materia's.
3. Mine Carbonized Matter (+5) at Horizon and you can use the copper to make the Dated Copper Rings.
4. Make Gloves rank 41+ for STR and DEX or Helmets for MND.
Percentages: On R41+ gear using Grade I Materia
2-Slot will be 40-42%
3 Slot will be 35-38%
4 Slot will be 25-30%
5 Slot will be 18-23%
This is the quickest and easiest way to get Gambler's Crown.

I did this today with 2 pairs of Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves
First broke on 3rd meld
2nd went to 5 melds no prob, 42.5%, 36%, 28%, 20.5%

Hello! Just curious why you choose to use Brass Rings instead of Copper Rings, which does not require Zinc Ore to make and theoretically can make the same materia?
Other than that, this guide is very good and I follow most of what you do! :) I'm getting close, got a quad meld a few days ago and it's just a matter of rolling the dice enough to get the crown.

Me and my boyfriend used Coppers Rings and Copper Earrings. We didn't neeed SB gear, they finished fast enough without them.

Got mine a few days ago. ^^ You are very lucky, as it is, with total calculations, a .9% chance to make the final meld for the crown.

What's even better is doing it on the first try(on fifth, at least)...
I couldn't tell you how many materia and pieces of equipment I went through just to get the fourth meld, and on the same piece I got the 5th at a 29% chance.
Same thing happened to my boyfriend, Sir Fireheart, as well.

I gave the best %'s when using grade 4 gear and grade 1 materia.
Switching types of materia will give .5%-2% more and +1 item being melded will give .5% more.

Yup! Soki speaks the truth those numbers are about what I went through to get my crown as well, in the same methodology. I think the cheapest hat to use is Deerstalker, although this can vary depending on price of the server you're on. Just make sure w/e you use is 41+ in level for the highest % chance. I know I burned over 100 materia doing it, but I had REALLY bad luck on 2nd->3rd materia for some reason...3rd->4th and 4th->5th came back to back for me lol. Good luck everyone

yeah, i used all these tactics to get get mine, had terrible luck even with the highest percentages possible, my successful penta meld actually came when i wasnt trying anymore, i had 2 piety +3 to get rid of and 3 strength +3, so i quickly stuck them to something and sure enugh it actually worked, percentages were awful too (18% on 5th).
So although there are ways to increase chances, you still need a bit of luck, and of course lots and lots of persistance.

just use the r48 bsm hammer costs like 20-30k to make and ingredients are easy to get anyway can put mnd and str on them use fingerless raptor gloves for the attack materias just incase u can 5 those u will benefit from that on all class and stuff for matt doesnt mater cause it wont add up good like regular attack

I've only made it up to 4 meld. I got really excited when I got that far and thought something cool would happen to make up for the past week of nothingness =/ I blame Tiny Tim for signing in on my last meld LOL

2 total pieces of gear to get 5 melds O.O .... wtf SE why you hate the rest of us so much! 0/3 going 4->5 on Felt Work Gloves with STR I =(

correct, grade 1 materia(1-10) on grade 4 gear(41+) is best %. If the gear is +1 if will have a 0.5% better chance.

I'm told melding the same materia (STR + STR instead of STR + MND) each time also increases the chances.

The crown is a crafting lvl 50 piece of gear for SBing.
Not really a have to have piece you know.
Take a few days worth of a break, and I bet you will get it first try next time.

As long as you are using level 41+ gear, then you're doing fine.
Really, I just think it has to do with luck. But I agree with Soki, just take a break for a few days and try again. It know it does get frustrating. =( It took me a few weeks worth of trying to get the crown, if that helps at all.

I'm assimilating rings while I mine to get my materia. 34 right now, and if I get to 50 with no crown then...I dont know :x

Just on a whim I decided to test your method out. So far I've attempted to attach over 47 pieces of level 1 materia, and the highest I've gotten is level 4. (and only once)
I agree this is the best method but don't think it easy, also I'm skeptical you did this on your second try. The odds are astronomical and if so you are very very lucky and should go to vegas immediately.

as states it is a 9% chance, so very lucky. Its harder then rolling a 10 sides die 1 time and having it land on 10.
Its more like
flip a coin and have to tails,
then roll a 6 sided die and have it be 1 or 2,
then do that again and get a 1 or 2,
and finally role it again and get a 1.
Its just odds, and i still have 150 grade 1 materia that I saved for this game of getting the crown, Even after giving some away.
I did hit a 3 meld on a crab bow earlier in the week, but when I set out to do this, only took 2 times.
