How often do you find yourself HQing blood armor, specifically hands?
I've been wanting to try for a while but just havent plucked up the courage to try :S

Get all the guild items before you even try. Moglification as well. It will save you money in the long run. After that, you should HQ 1/8-1/12 on average.

I guess I have the ultimate balance, but I don't attempt the synth all that much mainly because of how much gil I would lose on single attempts, but I never have HQed one, but I never broke a synth yet either.

Most of them with +2 or +3 from items and +3 from adv. support you will be T1 and average about 1 in 10 HQ's over time.

t1 HQ seems to happen a lot less than 10% of the time.. >.>

I totally understand. I get the heeby jeebies after I buy Dragon hearts cuz I know Im about to lose the gil. I think that way so I don't get dissapointed. Anyways it will work out if you put alot of gil into it. 12 Dragon hearts is 3/4 million and the dragon gear adds up to like 1 million just for 12 tries. So at that rate you better HQ just to make a little bit. If you dont HQ you lose 1M and if your patient you can piece the NQ through over time for 300kish back. NPC pays around 10kish for them. I have gotten up to 3/12 HQ/NQ.

Alot of other alchemist's dont bother to do 12 stacks like me and obtain HQs all the time. HQ is a little bit about timing maybe....

I recomment you wear an Alchemist's ring for breaking down Dragon Hearts. Them amount you will save from break will be more than you will gain from HQs over time.
