The site has been updated.

Apologies for the three week+ gap; the first skip was due to there just not being enough ready to merit a patch, and the second was due to a number of back end issues that made it seem more prudent to wait.

  • [XI] Synergy will now show up on linkshell crafting pages.

  • [XI] "Wanted" will now allow you to list stacks separately from individual items.

  • [XIV] FFXIVPro now has achievement rankings.

  • [XIV] Character pages now display mounts correctly.

  • [XIV] Character pages now display minions correctly.

  • [XIV] Character pages now display achievements.

  • [XIV] The item database is now current.

  • [XIV] The recipe database is now current.

  • [XIV] The achievements list is now current.

  • [XIV] FFXIVPro's internals have been completely reworked.

  • [XIV] Item pages now have links to BG Wiki.

  • [XIV] Bazaar now works properly.

  • [XIV] Wanted now works properly.

  • Various visual tweaks through the site.

  • Locked threads now do not show the reply box at all. If a thread's locked after you've loaded it you're still out of luck, though.

  • The chat system now shows Premium users (unless they've hidden that in preferences).

  • There were cases that did not respect email preferences. Those have been addressed.

  • There is now a Badges link in the sidebars that shows available options.

  • Badges now show on the user page.

  • Badges can now be toggled to show/hide individually.

  • There were multiple conditions where spoilers could break. These have been addressed.

  • Core changes were made to a number of the javascript components.

  • Large-scale internal cleanup of the code.

FFXIVPro is still a major work in progress - especially visually. I'm not really a graphics guy, so right now I'm mostly focusing on getting things actually functional and then worrying about dolling it up later. The data that's there should be current and reasonably complete. More data is coming; vendors should be next.

If you look at the badges page, you'll notice I need a couple of punny titles for the upcoming XIV Glamour contests, so send me suggestions!

I'm sure there will be bugs, so when you find them, please let me know.

Things slated for next week:

  • FFXI Guild Point Item refresh

  • FFXI Trust checklist

  • FFXIV Vendor information

Note: XIVPro is pretty busted right now as data loads. I'll let you know when it's running.

My report about item stacks and adding them to lists was actually for the "Item Sets" lists. I don't like to clog up the site by actually using the "Wanted" feature unless I'm trying to get people to sell things directly to me. I like using an item set named "Shopping List" to keep an eye on the things I'm interested in on AH. It's a way of checking the stock of many items simultaneously.

Anyway, I can only watch singles with the Item Set feature because the system doesn't support stacks. Still-fix-prz!

Current XIV Pro issues I know about:

- There's a lot of cached items on XIV Pro that will take some time to work their way out of the system (item pages will look weird for a little bit, for older items).

- The Japanese items don't display names correctly.

There are other things that should actually be fixed and I'm trying to find the issue.

so the latest update seems to have lost my Ranking in nations, in addition to the LS Community website still not pushing through my progress in WotG and Add On scenarios. it DID finally push a new title, for the first time in I don't know how long, so maybe I can get credit for Captain finally? the error I get when I queue it for update is "Profile is still fresh, not updating."

(beccause my nerd score is super duper important)

Not until I either implement a cooldown system, or a cash shop.

I'm not falling for your sleazy pay-to-win business model. My money is too important to spend on such trifle.

Just came to read this.
Thanks once more for all the work Rooks!
Can't wait to see Ergon weapons in the Achievement list now (last I heard you told us that they were pretty much working already on the dev version of FFXIAH?) and adjusted points for Merits/JobPoints (atm Merits are worth almost double the amount of JPs, should be the other way around as JPs require much more work than merits. More than three times the amount of work as 1 JP = 30k CP whereas 1 MP = 10k LP, realistically even more than that since mobs do not give the same amount of CP as they give LP, and these are available from many more sources than CP are).

Ergons will show tomorrow, as will level of weapon obtained. Like, in the Relics list on your player page, you'll see "Terpsichore (119)" instead of just "Terpsichore" (provided you have a 119!).

I need to revamp the achievement point ratios overall, but I haven't found a formula I like yet.

While there probably is no end to the possible improvements in regards to formulas, the current situation is already tons better than it was before you took over lol, trust me xD

Leveling a job to 99 should not grant ~7400 points anymore. As it takes 1-2 hours to achieve.

~7400 points is also given by leveling a subcraft to 70. And half the points of a relic.

Yeah he knows, he's been told and I think he also said he agrees, but he's kinda trying to see the "whole picture" when it comes to the achievement points.
In the end pretty much everything has devaluated one way or another.
Everything is easier and faster.
Merits? A few mins of farming.
Levelling? Leech in Abyssea or from a friend in SoA zones.
Relics? Lolrelics.
Empys? Well, empys 119 kinda require quite a bit of work. Arguably as much as a mythic if not more, especially if you expect to solo.
Mythics still require some commitment but they're incredibly easier now.
Craftings? Still require some commitment past... 80 I guess (depending on the profession) but it's much easier than in the past.

Blah blah blah.
Everything got easier in the end.

One of the things that should really be fixed is JPs imho. Idc if they're worth a lot or just a few achievement points, but relatively to merit points they should be worth much, much more.
But, as said previously, Rooks is well aware of this and he's kinda trying to see things in the whole picture and to fix things with higher priority.

Whatever happens, the amount of points given by exp/merits is likely to stay static, and everything else moved around it, just because the "points per point of exp" calculation is fairly complicated and would be annoying to change. All that really means, though, is that everything else is going to get bumped up.

The core problem is that I have roughly ten hours a week of actual development time, because actual work, wife/kid, etc. There's only so much I can get to in that timeframe, and tweaking the ach points formula just isn't as high on the list of priorities, as, say:

- fixing the GP item patterns
- making xivpro relevant
- adding useful tools to both sides (and the forum)
- fixing actual bugs

At some point I guess I should just open up a thread and let people propose point systems. I expect that thread would end up kind of a mess, because let me tell ya, nothing gets people out of the woodwork like tweaking the achievement point scale.

May just be a better idea to inquire with a few individuals who have done a lot of the content to compare. Instead of making it a public cry fest or something.

I don't see how DP serves as an acronym for Burtgang.
