OK, I give up...
I've had this [colourful expletive] greataxe for a while now, and have no clue as to it's latent trigger. Can anyone help me out with this?

Everyone's always been saying you need the title from killing Gurfurlur the Menacing in Halvung, but idk. It's not even really worth using over Perdu Voulge or Erlking's Kheten anyway, even with the latent active.

While back I heard if you kill "Gurfurlur the Menacing" and have the title "Troll Subjugator" the latent goes active.

As soon as someone finds out I bet it'll be on Wiki and if it's not there now, I don't think anyone knows.

i been researchign this for a while, i tracked down the original source of the name, it is a old southern N america legend . Basicly its a being that goes around killing people whos been foolish or are fools with his chopper , Wiki has couple sources of it under the axes listing including a sotry by o henry who wront his own sotry about the foolkiller. I really dont put much creed in it being from the comic of same name simply since SE names and bases alot it stuff around old legend/mythology form diff countrys. As far as the trigger have not had any luck yet, even with talking to jps with the axe and researching jp websites. though the menaceing title has been disproven. the jp version of wiki has on it currently rumor of it requireing have 0 mp and or be at end of the month (not sure if game or rl). Other theorys have been have te tarut the fool card in invo have retalition active and be moving. Theres few other listed on this site under the axe. So far only concrete info if that noone but SE knows on NA or JP side.

Maybe SE is just trying to lure Mr. T from WoW to FFXI so they made him an axe? ^^

Maybe the latent is active when you sub DRK and have all your buffs up.

In this case you are the fool that will be killed. :3

On that note I always felt Mr. T to be more of an Orc person, not a Night elf D:

XD LMAO that's funny

I have this axe too and the most likely theory for the latent effect for far is it activates on WS. but i dunno since damage sometimes varies too much

They did same thing to Seismic Axe, took a long time to find out the latent. Eventually someone will figure it out. Maybe it only works when fighting dragons >.>

I haven't tried this but what if..... its like Chaosbringer. As in you kill so many a of a certain type of mob. What I was thinking is kill imps. Because imp in Einherjar are called Odin's Fool... never know.

I don't know, but i thought...if that was the case the latent should have been discovered and confirmed ages ago...it shouldnt be too hard to test that on weak mobs, naked with only foolkiller equipped and steel cyclone...but thats only from what i heard around...

Anyway this axe its not worth the time...not only the latent seems to active under "probably" weird circumstances if its still to be found, but there's the delay problem too... =/

Has anyone tried the Imp thing yet?

So far the only thing I've tried is to have the wrong type of Signet thing on in an area not covered by it. Like have Sanction on in Conquest areas, etc. It was a random idea that popped in mind that could easily be tested.

Even so without the latent, I still like the Foolkiller over Byakko's Axe. I've hit my highest RR with this GA then any other GA I have.

LOL! That would really be SE screwing with us. Latent Effect STR+8: active always, but hidden effect of STR-8.

Looks like the latent hasn't been found, because all of the fools are still here.
