Well I finally decided to do the thread. Any Simpsons episode, character, quotes, favorite episodes.

I've been watching season 4 recently and it is probably one of the most consistently funny seasons ever.

What are your favorite episodes/seasons ?

I really stopped paying attention to the Simpsons. Once they did the movie that was pretty much it for me. It started going downhill when they started trying to delve in to Family Guy types of humor.

Love the show though, I can quote with the best of them--

Homer: Mmmm, 64 slices of American Cheese...64...63......2....*gulp*....1....*gulp*

Marge: Homer, were you up all night eating cheese?

Homer: I think I'm blind....

Really? I'm pretty sure Family Guy stole most of their content from The Simpsons.

The golden era of The Simpsons (seasons 3-8ish) was the most consistently incredible television ever.

Shame on all of you. Give me my dignity! I just came here to see Honk If You're Horny! in peace.

One of my favorite scenes is from Season 9 Episode 17 "Lisa the Simpson".

Lisa is writing in her diary and Homer and Bart charge at each other in the hallway with pots on their heads and collide, keeping score. There is another scene with the Simpson men in a circle doing the same thing at the end of the episode. Horrible youtube clip....

My favorite episode has always been the one where Bart sold his soul to Milhouse. In retrospect, it hurts a little that this is exactly what Matt Groening did. He sold the heart and soul of 'The Simpsons' and did the same with 'Futurama'.





Lisa: Hmmm...Pablo Neruda said, "Laughter is the language of the soul."

Bart: I am familiar with the works of Pablo Neruda.



Bart: Are you there, God? It's me, Bart Simpson. I know I never paid too much attention in church, but I could really use some of that good stuff now. I'm...afraid. I'm afraid some weirdo's got my soul and I don't know what they're doing to it! I just want it back. Please? I hope you can hear this.

Bart: Lisa? You bought this?

Lisa: With the change in my piggy bank.

Bart: There's no change in your piggy bank.

Lisa: Not in any of the ones you know about.

Bart: Oh, Lis! Thank you!

Lisa: Happy to do it. But you know, Bart, some philosophers believe that nobody is born with a soul...That you have to earn one through suffering and thought and prayer, like you did last night.

(Bart/Lisa episodes pluck at my heartstrings for other reasons now.)

i like the episode with the "fake" michael jackson. also, the one where bart fakes getting stuck in a well, and then gets stuck in a well.

Homer the Heretic

His conversation with God at the end. God says he has to go "appear in a tortilla in Mexico".

Never heard my dad laugh at TV show before that.

The treehouse of horror where they spoof the shining was always one of my favorites. I had that taped on a video casette when it came out and watched it all the time with my sisters.

I miss the Simpsons. Wish it was still aired on TV more. Outside of the block when they air the new ones, I never catch it on anything anymore :(

The Dad Who Knew Too Little was a great one. It had the great Homer aliases of Rock Strongo and Lance Uppercut.

It also had two of my most memorable lines:

"Simpson, from the moment I met you I had a feeling I'd end up killing you in a Hall of Mirrors."

and

"How ironic; He's blind after a life time of enjoying being able to see."

Oh man I had to include the youtube video of that as it's one of my favourite Simpsons moments.

"Uh Oh, my heart just stopped..."*belch* "ahh...there it goes..."

I find it more shocking that I havn't watched a "New" Simpsons episode in like 5 years *more like 8 if you don't count the Halloween episodes* and the damn show is STILL going

I mean they ran out of ideas at around season 11, how have the continued to go on for 15 more years? god damn. I didn't think the transition from actually funny things/humor to "Not even trying" pop-culture humor would last so long, shows what I know.

This may sound troll-ish but my favorite episode was always the trip to NYC episode. I constantly find myself saying "I shouldn't have drank all that crab juice" when I have to pee.

Probably my favorite line from any episode.

Currently my favorite quote is.

Lionel Hutz: Now, Apu, Mrs. Simpson claims that she *forgot* that bottle of... delicious... bourbon. Brownest of the brown liquors... so tempting.
[holds the bottle to his ear]
Lionel Hutz: [whispering] What's that? You want me to drink you? But I'm in the middle of a trial!
[puts it down]
Lionel Hutz: Excuse me.
[he runs out of the courtroom, finds a payphone and quickly dials]
Lionel Hutz: Hello, David? I'm really tempted!

I think this racing stripe is pretty sharp. I really love that line.

I think it is from Days of Wines and Does. Homer is drunk hanging from a helicopter to rescue Bart and Lisa.


Lisa: You saved us, dad. You did it.
Homer: I could do a lot more things if I had some money.
Lisa: Wha?...
