Don't think anyone said it was unimportant. My other points were simply overlooked and RAWR HASTE MATTERS proceeded.
Edit: My original post was very much on topic, ofcourse that was before the heavyweight starting swinging his troll hammer around - a troll post that was subsequently deleted.
So I'll state again:

to me, the activation rate on conserve tp is too far in-between for it to outperform beir, but, they sure are a lot closer when you also account that the sune-ate have conserve tp as well, resulting in a 13% chance of it activating i suppose
keep in mind as well, by nature i take things in from the amano perspective, which (for now? if they adjust relics further), that additional tp does absolutely nothing for me, though, 3.0 fTP is low enough to where a .1 addition would outperform 9 str and the 6(.75) atk that comes along with it, or at least i'm pretty damn sure of it
Yeah, Ele Belt/Torque combo for Kaiten, and in fact most non-lawl Relic WSs, is the best way to go. Overall .2fTP adjustment beats pretty much any combination of gear in those slots.

I gave you a link to math. Do you have math to back up your claim that your balance is superior? Or would you prefer to bold words that you think matter, and ignore the math?
By all means, if you have proof that your way is superior, I'm all ears; I fully realize I have a lot to learn, and will cheerfully change what I'm doing if it will be more effective.

for masamune (fudo) users, the difference is a ~11 str earring (moonshade with atk and tp bonus) against a 4 str earring (vulcan's pearl); even then, to be honest, i may be giving moonshade earring a little bit more credit than what it's due
once you account the fact that the bulk of the majority of masamune owners don't even own moonshade earring yet (or otherwise don't have augments on it for samurai), you're not essentially "behind" by any means
pair that with the fact that not everyone's elvaan either (in the case of a taru, they're already permanently a full 10 str behind), and well, let's just say it certainly won't, nor should it stop you from playing samurai in situations where the job excels these days

That was my point: Capping Haste is NOT the be-all-and-end-all for SAM. I've never said capping haste was a waste of time, nor have I even said that capping Haste wasn't worth it.
You sent me a link to math about Double Attack versus Haste(which by the way I've already seen but thanks all the same!). My request was "for this particular situation". The situation being 90 SAM. Taking into account: Haste, Double Attack, Zanshin, Hassoshin and Set Procs. While also showing that capped haste versus what I choose to do is "laughable".

Howdy peepz. Being the lovely and knowledgeable bunch my fellow Samurai are, I have a quick question regarding, as the title suggests, a 5-hit Masamune build. Here's the scoop: I'm not very well funded (I barely scrape by in the gil depot) and I have a great group of friends who I can farm gear and complete missions with.
I'm looking to optimize a 5-hit build with a WS macro-in set (no set post because that's not what the thread is about :P) that we will assume gives 16tp and a Masamune v85.
This is what I have right now. I really want to work in Ace's gloves, but I really dislike the -4/-4 str/dex of the Hoard ring. I also am working towards a Tathlum, and an earring which i would also enjoy input on (looking at WotG augmented earring).
