Yaanei has never been hard. People just haven't handled it properly. There are plenty of job combinations that can duo it with ease. NIN or MNK + WHM or RDM being among the easiest that could duo it.

Got to watch a JP group do just that, pulled it all the way to Tunga to kite around the rocks and stuff. I've duo (whm-nin duel box) Yaanei before, it's not hard but that Besieger's Bane sure ruined my day. A few well timed temp meds and Mijin Gakure helped me recover. Maybe if I learn to actually use my -MDT set than /panicking...
