Is this like...a series of Porn stories (lol) put into one movie?

And how can you even make it a class,will you be watching the different porn genres every quarter?

I mean, you can obviously write papers about how each genre started and the in depth details, but how do you study a collection of porn movies. Its just sort of...ridiculous.

My assumption from the basically non-existent details provided by the OP is that the class focuses instead on the effects of pornography on society. Or it could be examining the evolution of porn throughout history. Without any source material whatsoever, I don't know.

And the title of pornothology has nothing to do with a trilogy or something referring to a series of stories, but instead the study of a specific subject. Such as astrology, geology, so on and so forth.

At the University of California at Berkeley, students can view pornographic films and material with Professor Linda Williams of the film studies and rhetoric department. Williams teaches "Advanced Rhetorical Studies of Genre in Media and Literature," subtitled "Topics in Film: Moving Image Pornographies." The course description states, "Some of the images to be studied in this seminar will be offensive, or arousing, or both." Linda Williams teaches courses on popular moving-image genres (pornography, melodrama, and “body genres” of all sorts). She has also taught courses on Oscar Micheaux and Spike Lee, Luis Bunuel and Pedro Almodovar, melodrama, film theory, selected “sex genres,” and The Wire. Her books include a psychoanalytic study of Surrealist cinema, Figures of Desire (1981), a co-edited volume of feminist film criticism (Re-vision, 1984), an edited volume on film spectatorship, Viewing Positions (1993) and Reinventing Film Studies (co-edited with Christine Gledhill, 2000). In 1989 she published a study of pornographic film entitled Hard Core: Power, Pleasure and the Frenzy of the Visible (second edition 1999). This study of moving-image pornography looks seriously at the history and form of an enormously popular genre. In 1999 Williams received a Guggenheim Fellowship for research on her 2001 Playing the Race Card: Melodramas of Black and White, from Uncle Tom to O.J. Simpson (2001, Princeton)–an analysis of racial melodrama spanning the 19th and 20th centuries of American culture. She has also edited a collection of essays on pornography, Porn Studies, featuring work by many U.C. Berkeley graduate students (Duke, 2004). Her most recent book is Screening Sex (Duke, 2008), a history of the revelation and concealment of sex at the movies. She received Berkeley’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2004 and in 2011 was appointed Faculty Research Lecturer. She is currently researching a book on HBO’s The Wire.

*side note, Berkley is only accredited because of politics. If they actually seen the alumni and held them to the standards of other universities' alumni, their accreditation would be in jeopardy.

Accreditation has nothing to do with what an alumni does after graduation. It's the standard and quality of education at the institute.

I mean, it's anything to squeeze a little bit more money from braindead children. Might as well please their carnal natures, right?
