I know this seems bizarre - but I have seen this behavior occur on 3 different PCs - on completely different networks so I do not think this is user error. However since the behavior is so odd I wont rule it out yet.
I have been noticing that my PC gets sluggish over time (a period of days). And when I close chrome, and re-open it - it seems to get right back to its non-sluggish self.
The last time this happened I was determined to try to find the cause. I use Chrome.
I noticed that one of the chrome processes was taking up over 2 GB of memory.
Using the Chrome task bar (Chrome 3 bar menu icon > Tools > Task Manager) I could see that the tab that was using up all the memory was the tab that was sitting on my FFXIAH profile.
This seemed very odd - there was nothing special going on - nothing being refreshed on the page from what I could tell.
I closed the tab, and re-opened it. Memory for that tab decreased from 2+GB to under 30M - at first. Then I noticed that the tab was gobbling up 150k a *second*. I just let it sit there and watched it, and the tab for the FFXIAH page just kept growing and growing in terms of memory usage - as verified by the Chrome Task manager.
I tried all different pages from the FFXIAH web site - and the only correlation I could come up with is that if the page produced a scroll bar on the far right, I would eat up 150k per second. If there was no scroll bar, then memory would be stable. Also, memory growth only seems to happen when the tab is active.
Can someone else verify that this also happens to them - or is this happening to me only?
