I think the situation could be handled slightly differently and things would've been okay. I'm not sure how common it is, but maybe if he held the gun with her kinda like a golf instructor does to teach people how to swing

Precisely. As I said, I see no reason for a child to handle a weapon of that nature, but even if you're going to let them, there are intelligent ways to do it.

Christ! I shot my first deer rifle around the same age and wasn't able to hold it tightly enough to my shoulder to brace for the kick. I shot once, and my dad decided I was better off with the .22. Even at twelve I was still so spooked by my first experience, I became a little flustered.

What was that guy thinking? That poor girl is going to be scarred for life.

To say that the instructor deserved to die is saying that a firefighter deserved to be burned alive, or a police officer deserved to die for responding to an armed robbery, or a solider deserved to die for fighting a war his/her leader instigated or responded to.

Yes, it was stupid for the instructor and parents to allow a 9 year old handle or even come close to an Uzi. That's not the main issue to my post. To actually deserve death because of the guy's occupation and lack of judgement is paramount to other "deserved deaths."

We can even expand it to simpler jobs, like truck drivers, doctors, construction workers, cashiers, and other non-risk-oriented jobs.
