Was the kid breaking the law when the officer confronted him? Yes.
Did the kid rob a store prior to being confronted? Evidence states yes.

yet you bring up two accusations that have 0 bearing on whether a person should have his brains splattered across the street...

hhhmmmmmm hmmmmm.
Those two facts have full bearing to the main question:

Asura.Kingnobody said: »
Was the kid trying to get the police officer's gun? That is up for debate.

Which you even admitted is the real question.

Since we can only have one side of the story (the "witness" in this case is not exactly great because of the fact that he is an accomplice to the crimes committed prior to the incident, and the fact that he will do anything to "honor" his buddy's life, including lie), then we will never know what really happened, due to the sole fact that people automatically do not trust the police.

I know you are smarter than that. I'm going to assume that you are just trolling for the sake of trolling.

edit: paged, so here is a watermelon porcupine

Are you black? If so, expect a free flight home in a bodybag.

And whatever you do, don't question the police, they'll break your *** arms for resisting and murder you if you make any sudden movements. Welcome to the United States of Overreaction, enjoy your stay.

Also, burning crosses are part of the tour experience. Just take pictures and get the hell out of town before the sun rises.

Would an innocent person ever even attempt to take a gun away from a cop?

Well, I suppose that depends if they felt threatened. Try to take it out of their holster? No.

If it's pointed at them and they feel endangered...fear is not known for making people rational, innocent or otherwise. Yes, most would have the reasonable flight/passive response of "Okay. I didn't do anything wrong, but right now there's a gun pointed at me and I should probably not make any motions that might get me shot."

But some people have the "fight" response in them.

And that's not even accounting for the crazies who may have a gun pointed at them due to misunderstood circumstances.

What?

Nothing you're talking about has anything to do with the shooting. It's only character assasination which leads more people to think oh well the punk kid probably deserved it so I don't really give a ***anymore... It's the equivalent to saying the cop cheated on his wife. You automatically start to make assumptions about the people involved based on information that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Omg he cheated on his wife?!?!? he is so untrustworthy he must be lying about the events that took place!

It's a hell of a lot easier to get out of something if you piant the other person like a piece of ***to the point other people just start to automatically assume he deserved it.

I'm pretty sure it's documented somewhere that police officers are extremely likely to cheat on their spouses or have substance abuse problems secondary to the stress of the job.

So, really, maybe that's what's happening here.

Old data, but:

Quote:
AshleyMadison.com, the dating site for married people (yes, you heard right), surveyed all of their new members last year. Of the 1.9 million folks who signed up to cheat, er, date in 2009, these were the top professions:

For Women:
1. Teachers
2. Stay-at-home Moms
3. Nurses
4. Administrative Assistants
5. Real Estate Agents

For Men:
1. Physicians
2. Police Officers
3. Lawyers
4. Real Estate Agents
5. Engineers

Personally, I think the biggest take away here is that real estate agents are all cheating liars.

Yeah, well. Let's not forget the "opposing" source is the deceased's literal partner-in-(alleged)crime.

Character assassination my ***, there are reports out there showing that the kid at the very least tried to get the cop's gun.

Again, why are you painting the kid as a saint?
You really are as thick as they come king...

That you can't tell the difference between simple character assasination and facts related to the matter at hand is a true testament to that.

Is the deceased reaching for the officers gun relevant? Yes it is. If what's reported in the fox article is true then the officer has a strong case for himself as a man of that size who has already shown an aggressive nature and is charging at you can do a lot of damage. I just wonder why they haven't put out a picture detailing the officer's injuries and such when they released that video of the robbery like 5 seconds after they got it.

Are acts that the deceased committed previous to the incident relevant to it? No.

Either one of them could be the guilty party at this point as the stories change by the hour. I have never painted this person as saint. I have never painted the officer as a devil or vice versa. It's nice though that you resprt to utter *** all the time because you really don't have much to say and can't take the time to understand simple concepts.

Depends on the circumstances. If I was being violently roughed up by a cop when I hadn't done anything, and I felt my life was in imminent danger, the thought would cross my mind at the very least.

Also, if I were as high as a kite on meth, I'd probably give it a try for shiggles.

It's not hard to pick a yankee out in the Carolinas. I lack the drawal. Also, people in the South get very uppity with northerners for being rude and abrupt because we speak to the point and don't spend 20 minutes himming and hawing over every facet of a conversation.
