Honestly I think the whole immigration thing has more to do with votes than actual ideology. If our neighbors to the south had a strong tendency to vote Republican, we might not even be talking about a wall because Obama might have built one already.

There is a legitimate backlash against Clinton's coronation, which if Dems were the mindless sheep so tauted by our Conservative gods would not be so. Reality is Dems see Clinton as more business as usual, Americans on the whole are fed up with the way the countries run regardless of political alignment and thus the rise of Trump and Sanders. You can be 100% against Bernie Sanders politics but damn if that guy isn't an idealist after living the DC life for a lifetime. That's admirable because most of us would have pussied out decades ago.
