Welp, I'm about all out of *** to give for the year. This week has exhausted my stockpile.

11.5 days of work remain. Whether or not my sanity holds remains to be seen.

Yep. Quite a lot in DK this year.

Føtex 4500grams for 200dkk.

Also, for some very odd, odd reason Denmark has started celebrating Black Friday.

Denmark started last year and now for some businesses it's "Black Friday Week"...which, yeah.

This year many places in DK also celebrated Halloween the week before Halloween (it was autumn vacation for the schools here) where there were different Halloween activities every day.

I'm taking this Monday and Tuesday off. I was just taking Tuesday to take care of a few personal items, but now I'm taking Monday too because that's when the inspector was available to check out the pending new home, and I decided going to work for half a day in the middle of five other days off was stupid.

I'm pretty well strapped on my PTO after that though until the New Year.

I'm paying kinda hard now for my Key West vacation back in February.

You made a wise choice. I too would have taken Monday off. I'm all about efficiency PTO, as in having it coincide with days I'll already have off. Hence the half of a month off.

I'm thinking zero shaving during that time also. Grizzly beard season time.

"Black Friday Week"

We have something like that here called mellandagarna. It's the days between Christmas and New Years and the stores have sales.

We also have our own version of Halloween called skärtorsdagen where kids dress up as witches and trick or treat

Mostly you get money because people forget to prepare candy (which was great when I was a kid lol)

Quote:
In Sweden Maundy Thursday (skärtorsdagen) is connected to old folklore as the day of the witches. Young children often dress up as witches and knock on doors getting coins or candy for easter eggs.

Halloween's only been getting popular the last couple of years here. Another day (week) to wear costumes is always great :)

DK has festelavn in February where there is a pinata of a "cat in a barrel" (which used to contain a real cat...) and kids dress up, sing a song from door to door, and get money or candy.

Quote:
Traditional events include slå katten af tønden ("hit the cat out of the barrel"), which is somewhat similar to using a piñata. The Danes use a wooden barrel, which is full of candy and sometimes oranges and has the image of a cat on it. Historically there was a real black cat in the barrel, and beating the barrel was superstitiously considered a safeguard against evil. After the candy pours out, the game continues until the entire barrel is broken. The one who knocks down the bottom of the barrel (making all the candy spill out) becomes kattedronning ("queen of cats"); the one who knocks down the last piece of the barrel becomes kattekonge ("king of cats").

That looks like a lot of fun. We don't celebrate that though.

Only bonfires are on St. John's Eve (midsummers eve) and that is not nearly as big as in Sweden.

Nothing compares to the beauty, the destruction, and the majesty of fire, nothing! It's so great.

I'd one day like to see an entire city ablaze...thinking about visiting Flavin.

Morning all, I hope it treats you well.

What a ***stupid day to be at work. I'll poop if I actually get a phone call or do anything productive. I loathe these days, I need to get a game on my work PC or hide some vodka under my desk.

I like your thinking...

I put a secretary in charge, went home & swept the chimney, and came back & went out to the metal shop & worked on some random things for no reason. confused the guys out there.

how else to kill time....
