Come January, I'm going to be throwing my resume everywhere I can. Hell, I might even go work for a friggin' charter school.

I miss being Super Effective by being clever and good, not because of ilvl sillyness.

what's that? I quit when seekers came out
It is a system of obsolteting equipment without having to do the work of figuring out how to make job levels higher. So a single piece of equipment can make the equivalent of having a level 55 job trying to do lv75 content.
well in XI's case, if I understand it correctly, it's so they had to do less recoding.

Thought you had to stick with a public school for a few years or something, due to your loans?

This school has a 30% turnover for teachers. I can see why. The admin actually try to seclude us, and instead of giving any real support, all they ask is "How can I support you, today?"

Uh... have you seen my class? How about *** help with anything you can! What can I do to turn this ***around? But, they won't do that. They just ask their little buzz term and are done with it.

Ugh, I'm sick of this school.

And that's how Magnuss's School For Gifted Youngsters was born.

Ooooo~ Are we having the "Old" XI touchy-feelies?

I loved being about to boot people from the party before a tele for shits and gigs!

In '04 or '05 I made the mistake of logging on while my buddies and BF (at the time) were still in classes (we used XI to still clown around with each other when we all went to separate colleges), I was stuck in the dreaded Valkrum Dunes! So, after a little thought, "Book it to zone!" was my solution, and I did just that, with a pack of bats, lizards, and gobs trailing me with XP parties lining Valk probably "/facepalming" at me all the way to my death! :D

XI touchy feelies~
-sitting on dead people.
-cancelling raise on purpose then walking away.
-teleporting people to the wrong place then warping away.

Used to feel like the greatest way for your party to assert their dominance over the ***bricks that just moved in on your camp. Bonus points if they got a link and wiped and your party kills both at once.

new people in dynamis getting aggro on ALL the things.

shouting for raises in the dunes because you had to be 20 to outpost there. setting your hp in the dunes so you could just hp and run back to pt. going back to town and changing job. dying and being put in the dunes as a level 3-5.

memories.

I actually enjoy the second comment. "...was/is Japanese".

Somehow implying that you can simply stop being of a cultural heritage.

But yeah. Finishing a relic under the old system was...something.

I met some of my best long-time XI friends whilst standing around waiting for crawler trains to clear away.

One of them we left there and made a party in Labyrinth of Onzozo and spent the ensuing 3-4 hours making *** jokes because of the cockatrices there.

Because, really. Who can ever get enough smooth, glistening *** skin in their life?

Anyone kick the puller from exp parties?
or accidentally teleport/warp people.
or buy an item off the auction house and put it back on it with a slightly higher price. or risk putting the item up for 1gil for low AH tax.
or buying out all the ingots. and reselling it for double price.
or /follow trains.

I think the best thing would be putting items up in your bazaar that looked similar but for different price tags. Kinda how people bought into the One Hundred byne bills but really they were single bynes :3

I would always try waaay underbidding on items on the AH just in case someone put it up cheap to avoid AH tax. I think it worked for me once :/

Yeah, first confirmed relic. I used to see him camping Habetrot 24/7. The is/was thing is because he sold the account after his LS, Feather, broke up.

Remember how notorious HNM LSs would break up and the news spread like wildfire, sometimes you'd even celebrate?

Seraph was a hotbed of drama back in the early days, because way back when a huge portion of the NA HNM crowd got their start in one linkshell that remade, broke up, reconciled, then broke up again but still did Dynamis together even though they hated each other, etc.

This ***went on for years. Well after Seraph was merged with Bismarck, in fact.
