I'm glad I didn't have high hopes for the area then. Lol really just going to visit a friend who moved there.
Tip:
If you want to get into a club at one of the casinos (especially since you are a guy) "do the right thing".

Pass money to the bouncers while saying that and no line for you!
Not really a club guy. Even if I was I'm still pretty strapped for cash. Wouldn't even be making the trip if it wasn't preplanned and roommate would stop bugging me about it. X.x

Ah.

You won't be missing much anyways. The clubs are pretty much like all clubs, at least what I remember. The cover charges are pretty insane for guys and then "tipping" just adds to it.

But at least it won't be super hot at this time of the year.

Edit:
I feel the need to pass on that advice to whomever visits Las Vegas. I can't even remember who told me that, but there used to be a story....I think it might have been a bartender at the Palms. Maybe Mil remembers

There's this guy that I do business with and he comes in about once a year and every year he wants to go to some new club he heard about... It gets worse every year...

Yeah, I wanted to somehow connect all the dots with Nik's (since I have my suspicions about him being time traveling Lee Harvey Oswald) Polar Vortex Machine, Croce, Hendrix, Skynyrd, and climate change this morning, but the time has passed.

Trying to get things knocked out, so I can enjoy Mom-and-Me-Maximum-Marathon-Meal-Prep without having anything else floating around my skull.

EDIT: I think I blew my load with some of the 1960's yesterday anyway.

Most serial is two wire, similar to USB; if you have a serial port on your PC, you can try directly wiring the pins to see if that works. (pinouts are available online, just check that the voltage levels are compatible)
That's assuming your vendor doesn't have updated drivers which don"t require you to do the end run.
I'm guessing you don't have any support contract or such?

My friend and I used to do that back in the day he was "Iceman" and I was "Shooter" and we would claim responsibility for everything bad that had ever happened....kinda like evil forest gumps... Iceman was responsible for numerous "drunk driving accidents" like train derailments, plane crashes and perhaps most spectacularly the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

and "Shooter" killed everyone from JFK to John Lennon for a variety of reasons that hardly seemed worth arguing about (he killed JFK over a $20 bet that JFK welshed on) they both worked off and on for various sinister shadowy government organizations and spent a lot of time causing international incidents

the wiring is ok, it's the transmission speed that is the problem
USB 2.0 is 480 Mbit/s and old timey serial is 9600 baud LOL

Eh, that's more along the line of the maximum rate, it certainly is able to be bumped down. If you are using some sort of virtual com port driver, you can probably adjust the settings for the driver. In windows, that is likely through the device manager, for other OSes... it will depend.

Yeah in windows I don't have a problem, I can fake it out with a USB to Serial driver and assign it a Com Port and then control the Baud rate on the com port

it's driving it remotely with a USB Print Server off a network.

I may have to go ethernet to serial and then serial to USB and make a box to hide all the adapters and gender changers in it so it doesn't look all hoopty
