The doctors say that he will live through it and be fine. It's a very treatable kind of cancer. So there are up sides.

My grandfather quasi-raised me, & we spent some time at mayo fighting that stuff. not a bunch of fun. I wish your crew the best over there.

So we found out a few weeks ago that my dad has throat cancer.
It's really one of those things where you hear about it all the time but never think it could really happen to you or you family.
My parents main business is a silk-screening company, but since my dads going to be laid up while going through treatment our income is going to be tested, since my mother can't work due to being disabled, and I might not be able to work as much as I'd like since I'll be helping with taking care of him.
We started a group on facebook where we're selling shirts where the money will go straight to his care, it's really great to see all these people coming out of the wood working to support my family and the long fight we all have ahead of us.
I'm most surprised of all from the support and orders we've received from a lot of my "internet" friends. It's really great to see that just because we've never met, doesn't mean that they are not supporting us. It truly means a lot to me and my family.

You hate puns but you like Pratchett?! Late reply: he doesn't do nearly as much punning as he's given credit for. Also, though they tend to have the subtlety of a half-brick to the skull, they also tend to be couched in an adequate veneer of literacy. It's a helluva balancing act he pulls off.

about uhm, 6-7 years ago, one of my front teeth got chipped, a bit.
as time passed, from that small missing part, more of it has broken off, little visible, and today another small piece cracked off,and now I have a hole in my tooth + the small gap from before :/

We're all screwed! Well, the cold fact is a bit worse than your humorous hyperbole:
Everyone who lives long enough develops cancer. Everyone. Cancer is just a cell that has slipped loose and gone crazy. Literally every male's prostate will develop benign cancerous growths if he lives long enough (and yet no one talks about prostate cancer -- it kills fully 33% more men per year than breast cancer does, too).
The reason "everything" gives you cancer is because we're doing this crazy thing where we don't die at the ripe old age of 34 anymore. On the plus side, though, in the past 50 years we've managed to make most cancers treatable, if not outright curable. It's only a few really sticky ones (breast cancer being near the top of the list) that we're having trouble with.
The best medicine, therefore, is just to be aware of your own health as you age, notice anomalies, and get them checked sooner than later. Don't be like a 16-year-old boy with his first car who lets the thing make a funny sound when he brakes for 7 or 8 months before finally deciding to replace the pads or careen off a slick highway into a ditch.

Ohhhhhh yeah buddy. that happened to me a few years ago. I just told them I had a lot of weird anxiety, & would need a ***ton of nitrous oxide. they said that would be fine, if I paid an extra hundred dollars. best money I've ever spent.

Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
