I’ve been kicking around the idea of taking monk a little more seriously as of late, and possibly ditching the Oats- I have a 90 Verethragna at the moment, but I’m pretty sure I can 119 a Spharai from scratch for less gil than the 1200 or so HMP I still need and 40-some-odd cinders at current server pricing.
I’m fairly certain that somewhere in this 80-page thread someone has crunched the numbers between 119 Spharai and Verethragna, but instead of sifting through all of that I’ll just ask: how does the Spharai compare?

AM3 Glanz > Vere AM1 > Spharai > Tinhaspa Path A > Path B > Oats or something like that.
Actually felistris mask should be better than the new headgear for WS, disregard what I said. Nothing of interest in the VU for monk. They won't annouce nyzul upgrade until months, if they ever do, so I guess until then we'll get nothing.
How is the new h2h? It has +120 hp -10 enmity and lower delay.

With MNK's heavy bias toward melee dmg and obscene amount of multi-attack, they're very close, but I have tinhapsa still winning vs almost everything. Good lol. Is this considered the best TP set on MNK when you don't need accuracy?

For an accuracy down VS set I'm pretty sure 5/5 Espial will beat any combination of Otronif+1/Anchorite+1/Uk'uxkaj, especially with NQ otronif. Depending on what mob you are using it on of course.

Depending on what mob you are using it on of course. Surprisingly seems to be true, on anything very low end. Again begs the question what it's being used for. You can be easily capped on a Delve 1.0 boss with no help from your WS gear but more standard MNK options will still outperform Espial in that kind of scenario. I hadn't even looked at Hesychast+1 feet before, those feet make a huge difference and actually make your set beat Espial 5/5 even with Impetus for delve fodder.
Edit: Depending on buffs. Qaaxo pathc are 21str 21dex 5acc 15atk
With no buffs, id imagine Light Gorget + Rancorous mantle would do better, no?

I get Windbuffet Belt, Ele. Gorget, and Rancorous Mantle winning for ws. For tp Rancor collar Oneiros ring and new ammo from Tenzen with set you had. Has anyone math'd a couple of good Ascetic's Fury sets?
Since on difficult content or when you have low buffs it smokes Victory Smite (Glanzfaust only). unfortunately victory smite still beats ascetics fury with glanzfaust even in delve 2, i wanted to believe but my WS averages say otherwise

So I began caring both full WS sets, which share many pieces so it was not hard on bag space. With glanz you have +20% ascetic's dmg? If using glanz ascetic's and VS should be very similar over time.
Depends on your builds/buffs/target really. 100 ws with both under similar conditions, isn't really a fair comparison, let's be honest! Multi hit, crit hit ascetic's should spike amazingly, but not crit 1 hits should pretty poor. VS however has pretty good base dmg, but being 4 hit ws multi hit has lesser of an affect, but it does crit more. Anyway they both have plus points. But my point is there isn't much in it. Idk for sure, but i think VS has better sc potential? +30%, but yeah, they are pretty similar and I -think- only VS is capable of light? I can't remember off the top of my head. I don't deny that ascetic's is a great weapon skill I just think that VS is better, except when acc is uncapped I suppose
VS can double light, Ascetic's is Fusion/Transfixtion

TP set: ItemSet 322863 VS set: ItemSet 323030 Are there any glaring/obvious upgrades? This would be a mid-accuracy setup for me.
