Well, my summer's over, so starting tomorrow I have to start teaching again. I'm actually more prepared this year and feel more confident however, so I'm hoping things will go better. Also, the amount of support I'm getting from other staff is overwhelmingly different than how it was last year. This year I have people willing to share everything and have curriculum meetings, as well as administration who are more than willing to help me when I falter as well as see that I'm still a beginning teacher and that I make mistakes. So, I'm optimistic.

Today, I have to buy a couple things for my classroom (for instance, I don't have a pencil sharpener) and last night I got to level 50 on ESO, so I plan on screwing around a little bit in the game before going off to purchase stuff and get ready for next week.

Japanese voice Goku is horribad in the anime

All Japanese voices are bad in animes. They are too high pitched to me. Now, if we actually had some animation people to dub in the actual translation with the mouth animation, that'd be great and we would have no problems.

Wasn't I afk in that picture? That was a pretty fun day, admittedly. But then you guys had to go onto a server that filled up in seconds...

Not all, but yes many are. However as most people are not familiar with the actual spoken language, they inject the idea that it's better because in the language they recognize(in this case english)they can easily tell the acting is overdone and thus bad.
Truth is most dubs are bad for animation in english, japanese, italian, french, and probably more but I've never watched them in other languages.

JP version has a better soundtrack but the voices are way too high in Dragon Ball series for Goku/Gohan. It makes my ears bleed :(

I find Japanese dubs, more often than not, to be pretty good. My guess is that it's probably because they take dubs more seriously as a profession than other countries. So you get more quality voice actors in Japan than in other countries.

I agree. I've only found a few anime where the NA Dub was better than the JP original. Dragon Ball Etc being one of the rare ones. Now if they would stop putting shitty rock music into the made for TV DB NA Dubs...

Personally the only anime I could stomach in English is Cowboy Bebop, it's just weird to me hearing them in dubs.

Some of the best voice acting in English (that I personally like) comes from people who are actual actors. They live the role, they don't just read off the page like in so many JRPG dubs
