I still have my reservations about XV; as pretty as it looks.
The fact that they've been working on it for over six years (and only recently claimed to be about 55% done with the game) and also swapped directors and switched titles doesn't exactly warrant a vote of confidence.
Doesn't help that it's still dabbling in the whole Fabula Nova Crystalis thing which was impossible for me to digest in XIII and it's godforsaken ilk.
The issue I had with 13 was the invisible walls. They show you amazing landscapes that you can't step into, you see the beautiful world and yet you can't be immersed in it or enjoy it. You have to look from afar, and follow the dirt path laid out for you that connects you to the end of the game, or at least the 1 large area of the game at the 75% point.
FFXV will be much more immersive but I already saw 1 invisible wall during the open world gameplay. Invisible walls break immersion for me instantly, and I wish developers wouldn't use them. I'd much rather have them form terrain to create a natural barrier that you can't cross.
"What about an open drop off that shows a view?"
Dark Souls rules (or at least a stagger).
