If you're going to quit, have another job lined up, otherwise try to get fired and leave on good terms, you can't file for unemployment while you look for a new job if you simply quit. I live with my parents, so bills aren't something I'm worried about. I've currently got $6,000 sitting in my bank, that'll go up by the time my quitting wouldn't destroy my remaining coworkers.
Admittedly I'm sitting at 7/9 points before being fired. Just one weekend sick day call off and I'm gone. Same housing situation for me, can't move out though because I help with bills here...and they are expensive. >.>
Old windows and no insulation in this old house A/C goes full time in the summer, Heater goes full time in the winter. I do actually have my own phone bill which my parents joined and dad pays half. If my mom was able, we could split it three ways.
Unfortunately, when filling out her disability forms, she was trying to impress the reader or something so I doubt she'll get it. If you're curious, she's had open heart surgery after 2-3 heart attacks and the surgery left her with an aneurism.

Just don't end up doing what I did and staying longer than you should. You deserve better. Well past that point, to be honest. But I keep getting promoted at just the right time that I think "well, it's going to be better, right?" and I go at it again.
Same ***, just comes in a seemingly shinier package. :/ I know that feel... Reminds me I need to fill out some more applications. Stay the hell away from Jumers if you're even remotely interested in this area.
If they could actually draw in guests by sacrificing you to some obscure god, they'd do it. And then tell you to work harder.

I live in Oklahoma, Tornados aren't really a big deal to us here, just part of life.
By the way, I was thinking of something; my sister used to work at a casino here, I say used to because she had scheduled a trip to New York, got time off approved, and the day before she left they decided to change schedules after her shift was over. The next day she left for a four-day trip and came back to find she had been fired. She never got a phone call or an email telling her the schedules were changed. Doesn't seem like that would be legit.

your family really won't survive without your income? I mean they did survive while you were younger right?
Would hate to see you stuck at home for years after turning 18 when you deserve some freedom and growing yourself
I do actually have my own phone bill I'm confused why you mention this senor. this is like a normal adult saying "I do actually wipe my own ***"
Well duh of course you do.
But you do pay part of the
-home insurance
-mortgage
-grocery bills
-internet bill
-power bill
-property taxes
-water bill
as well right? They'd have a harder time without me, they are...well, bad with money whereas I'm very frugal.
The phone bill is actually in my name, they joined mine.
We dropped home insurance after they refused to pay for repairs from an ice storm which they should've covered for home insurance in OK. Our mortgage guy told us to just drop it (we've known him for years.)
Mortgage is spread between two properties; this house and my brother's, dad and my brother split those payments, $400 each.
The rest of those listed I help with, though not all of them. I usually help with internet, as I did this month.

The children leaving home to venture and never coming back is a weird and unusual culture really, most other places of the world really can't afford it.
@girlboy: sounds like it's time to save up a bit and redo the insulation/windows, and put in some new appliances, would cut down on heating/cooling/electric a crapton, even if you have to take out a loan for it, it's well worth it. Not to mention a good bit of that should be tax deductible, if nothing else the interest.
That's assuming of course your family owns the place and doesn't rent, etc.

A few years back my parents bought a set of Frigidaire appliances (stove, fridge, dishwasher). Total ***, dad bought a used dishwasher from Craigslist, he and I went in half on a stove. We also had to buy a clothes dryer because my brother does laundry every *** day and wore out old one out, my grandparents bought my parents a new washer for Christmas a few years back and I bought a deep freeze a few years back which has already gone out so we store food in our old circa 1950's Admiral upright deep freeze...
EDIT: My sister and I also bought dad a propane grill for Father's Day last year, who has it atm? The same *** who's had it since about a month after we bought it; my brother. He needs to buy his own appliances if he wants to be all "Yeah, I have my own *** house."

For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
